Located just a short walk to the seasonal Homestead Village for groceries, coffee, and a fabulous outdoor bar called Whiskers, very near the resort's ski hills and cross-country trails, and only a short walk to the Lake Michigan beach, this upper-level, one-bedroom condo is the perfect home away from home for couples and solo travelers!

The bright, airy, and cheery living room awaits with a fireplace, comfortable sofas, a dining table, and a TV with cable. The well-appointed galley-style kitchenette is complete with a two-burner stove, an under-counter mini-fridge, microwave, toaster, and dishwasher. This lovely kitchenette opens up to a furnished deck overlooking the forest. The bedroom offers a comfortable bed and the bathroom available features an updated sink, fixtures, and shower, along with a soaking tub.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

No A/C and no communication

Let me first say the condo itself and the property was lovely. The management (Vacasa), however, was horrific. We arrived shortly after check in to find the second floor condo extremely hot with no A/C on, during the “extreme heat watch” weekend. We attempted to turn the AC unit on with no success, and reached out via phone call and message for assistance. We were met with basic suggestions which made it clear they had no idea how to help us (no, I cannot unplug the ceiling mounted AC unit) and them saying the best they can do is open a ticket to have someone come fix it. They promised they would call us when someone was on the way. We went out to dinner to seek refuge from the heat in a restaurant, and two hours later we had still not heard back. After reaching out again, they said that maintenance had already been there and that the issue has been resolved. Upon returning back to the condo, the windows were still open, it was still 84 degrees in the condo, and the A/C was still off. There was now a note on the counter saying they fixed the air conditioning. But yet again, we could not get the unit to turn on or do literally anything. We reached back out, hoping that it was just user error, and asked if maintenance could either call us to explain how they got it working, or come back out to take another look. We were told they could not do this, and that the best they could do was open another ticket. 2 hours later, maintenance never came or reached out. Unacceptable.

Beautiful, affordable spot

We loved staying here. Amazing location. The condo was very clean. Things are a little dated and the kitchen could use a few more amenities. The freezer was also so full of ice buildup that it broke the freezer door and consequently the fridge door wouldn’t close. The whole thing should be replaced. We ate out the whole time, so it didn’t affect our trip. But if we had brought food that needed refrigeration or a freezer we would have been disappointed.

Location Location

We rented the home for a 7 night stay but left after 4 nights. Pros: The home is a good base camp for all the attractions nearby especially sleeping Bear dunes. Cons: The cleaning crew did not do a good job with the cleaning. The comforter on the bed was dirty looking and had a bad scent and needs to be washed. The bed constantly creaked on every move. The toilet bowl had poop stains. Once these shortfalls are addressed the home can attain 5 stars. I did inform Vacasa about the shortfalls but no one reached back out to us. The Vacasa crew needs to get their act together. They seem very unorganized. They sent me an email thinking I had checked out a week before I arrived. I sent an email when I left the property yet they kept sending me check out emails.

Vacasa Manager was excellent!!

The original listing said nothing about parking. There is adequate parking for two cars per unit. Originally there was no mention of a coffee maker. There is a 5 cup coffee maker, but you should bring small filters with you. The listing said there wasn't a bathtub, but there is a very large jacuzzi bathtub. The balcony was filthy, but we washed it down and "swept" the floor. Any issues we had were professionally handled by Vacasa management and VRBO wasn't in the picture at all. To pay them any kind of fee is a waste of money. The location was just beautiful and the unit was very comfortable. We will certainly be back, but will book strickly with Vacasa.

Charming treetop condo

This is a bright, cheery and very well appointed condo- pretty, clean and fresh with all the amenities as advertised. All instructions before arrival were helpful. The only problem was that the unit did not have a number on the exterior. This needs to be remedied. Otherwise, it was very nice and we enjoyed our stay in the unit thoroughly.

VRBO was wrong!!

Our stay was wonderful!! However, before we booked a reservation, I ask Vrbo if we would be able to park our utility trailer as well as our car!. They replied there was ample parking for both. NOT TRUE! Trailers are not allowed in this resort. Thankfully, the management told us about a secure lot where we could drop the trailer for the night. Otherwise our trip would have been ruined!
