About this property

A Voir Plus Tard

  • Nestled in the Auvergne volcanoes park, on the slopes of the Dora valley at an altitude of 800m facing south, this spacious cottage of 86m2 located in a small hamlet of about ten houses will generously welcome nature lovers.

Completely restored in 2024, the Félicie house located in the former stables of the mansion dating from 1849 that it adjoins, offers a breathtaking view of the valley and the surrounding nature from its dominant position.
The Félicie house is then bordered, along a garden, by three small buildings typical of an Auvergne house, namely an old smoking room, a shed and finally a bread oven which is relit and gives rise to a bread festival in the hamlet once a year during the summer.
A small waterfall on the property with benches and stone table is at your disposal, for your moments of daydreaming along the water.

The hamlet having voted to turn off the public lighting in summer, you will also be able to admire the celestial vault without any nocturnal pollution.

If you are afraid of ants, pollinators, fauna and flora in general and prefer to spend your holidays in the middle of the crowds, we are sorry but this place is really not for you!

    Description of the house:

    On the first floor:
    - Large 30m2 kitchen-dining room with bay window overlooking the mountains, 4-seater round table, fireplace and sofa. The kitchen opens onto a terrace with table and 4 chairs for outdoor dining.
    - Small bathroom with toilet and washing machine.
    - Scullery with water heater and storage.

    On the 1st floor:
    - Large bedroom of 20m2 including a double bed in 160cm, new Emma bedding, wardrobe, dresser and desk.
    - Bathroom with shower and toilet

    On the 2nd floor
    - Fitted out in the attic, this large room includes a reading area, with sofa, library and large screen television, and a work area with desk and storage equipped with a high-speed fiber internet connection.

    Around the house

3km away is the village of Tournemire, classified as one of the most beautiful villages in France, watched over by the castle of Anjony, a building with four round towers from the twelfth century, but you will also find a gastronomic restaurant.
Every Wednesday during the summer, a friendly country market is held in Tournemire with music concerts and catering.

Saint Cernin is located 8km from the cottage and you will find all the local shops, bakery, butcher (The famous Maison Dupont and its local products!), supermarket, a bank, a pharmacy and a doctor's office.

Aurillac, the prefecture of Cantal is 24 km away which hosts a famous street theatre festival in August.

    Important
    - Rental exclusively by the week from June and from Saturday to Saturday until mid-September. Then rental for a minimum of 6 days.
    - The cottage can only be rented for two adults. We do not allow children over 8 months old as the outdoor space can be dangerous. On request we can provide a wooden bed and a high chair.
    - The house has 1m wide walls and a slate roof, so the phone signal does not pass inside. You will then have to configure your phone to Wifi calls, or not... 4G is available outside.
    - The grounds are not fenced for our animal friends.

Merci!!
