Superb

This place is great! Super friendly and helpful staff, clean pool, awesome outdoor bathrooms, the a/c is super cold, and the value overall can’t be beat.

Really enjoyed our stay, staff were lovely and couldn’t be more helpful! Rooms were clean and pool was great. Some of the resort was a bit rundown, public toilets near the pool and parts of the pool area. Also, no restaurant open at the resort due to low season so couldn’t get food or drink there .

Grand Sunset Gili Air

Grand Sunset Gili Air was a nice surprise. Location good, beautiful sunsets. Manager extremely helpful and gave prompt attention. Our bathroom/room smelled if sewer gas and he was right there for us. The food was very good, but the staff isn’t fluent in English. I was surprised by the primitiveness if the island, but nice breeze and pool were a reluef from Bali heat.

Great view, great pool, great staff

We planned to stay here for 6 nights, but the staff were so helpful and friendly and the hotel so comfortable, that we extended to two weeks. We would highly recommend Grand Sunset.

Gili Air retreat

The staff at Grand Sunset was very helpful and accommodating when it came to setting up day excursions on the island. Great view of the sunset from their private beach. The food at the bar/restaurant was good, especially the fish tacos. Overall, pleasant experience.

We were scheduled to stay here and cancelled as soon as we looked at our room. The property was not what we expected from the pictures. The rooms were small and dark. The bathroom was cleaned and smelled like pure chemicals. The pool was taken over by divers and the beach furniture was in poor condition and not many options to select from to lounge in. Very disappointed and stayed somewhere else.

Ok, men kommer nok ikke tilbake til Gili

Grei plassering på Gili. Som navnet tilsier får man en utmerket utsikt til solnedgangen. Ikke veldig imponert over øyen generelt, mye skjell på stranden og lavt tidevann som gjorde det vanskelig å bade i sjøen. Vi ble overrasket av at badet ikke hadde tak og at vi dermed delte bad med x antall insekter og gekkoer. Vi fikk kun tynne laken og airconditionen var vanskelig å stille inn noe som resulterte i kalde netter. Dog kan man kanskje ikke vente mer til en så rimelig penge. Servicen på hotellet var upåklagelig, veldig hyggelig personale.

Struttura nel complesso carina, fronte spiaggia con piscina (come tutte le strutture a Gili air). Camera un po’ datata, ma funzionale. Delude molto il livello di pulizia: muri sporchi, polvere negli angoli, letto con vistose macchie, anche il bagno (all’aperto) così così.

Lack of staff led to poor experience

Agree with the last review, also confused by multiple 5* ratings. Seemed like more like a collection of rooms to stay in than a hotel. A lot of our problems seemed to be caused by lack of staff so they were always very busy and didn't have time to make you feel welcome or to be polite (especially in the restaurant, where I found them actually rude at times). TVs in the rooms don't work and the WiFi barely works at all anywhere in site. They always seemed to forget to wash their beach towels and took away but didn't replace our room towels. The staff's English wasn't great which made resolving issues tricky, even though they did try their best. Main menu food in the restaurant was good quality but we had the price of our breakfasts refunded after the first day as there was poor choice and everything was cold, cocktails also not great. Divers in the pool would be an issue if you wanted to use it during the day. If you can get a good deal on the price it's OK but I wouldn't recommend paying full amount here, seemed like there were many nicer places on the island!

This was our second trip to Gili Air and stay at the Grand Sunset in two years. We sought out the hotel, as it has a great Scuba Diving School on premise, and both hotel and the dive shop are literally 15m away from the water. Everything seems back to normal after the natural disaster affecting Lombok/Gilis last Nov. It was heart-warming to see how hard management and staff were working at providing a great experience and further expanding their services. This hotel provides excellent value, especially if you are into scuba diving, and it has in our opinion the best location on the island, away from the busy parts on the other side near the harbour. We would definitely go back!

Had an excellent stay would definitely go back. The sunset on a longe chair at the end of the day here is what its all about. The staff were super friendly went above and beyond to insure a pleasant stay. The manager Josh help me out with a couple things I needed and was always around to help guests. Had a breakfast included with severl options to start your day with. You could sit by the pool or walk straight out to the beach. Had good snorkeling rite there or even take a scuba course on site. If your looking for a 5 star luxury resort this isnt it. If your looking for good people a relaxing stay on the beach in a nice place I would recommend these guys .

The staff at Grand Sunset was amazing!!! Very nice! The room was good for the price and breakfast was pretty good! The only downfalls were the hotel being far from most restaurants and bars and the wifi was not very strong and didn't work all the time. Also, the bathroom is outside which gave us a bit of a problem because there were thunderstorms every night. Overall, a great value for the price we paid!

I loved this place and would stay there again in a heartbeat. The location was perfect for me, quiet yet just a quick 5-10 min bike ride to the harbor area where there are many cute shops and cafes. There are also other great places to eat within walking distance. The sunsets cannot be beat and there were plenty of lounge chairs on the beach to enjoy them from. There is a diving company on site, Gili Air Divers, which was very convenient for me since I planned to dive while I was there. The staff at the hotel and at the diving company were all amazing, making me feel welcome and giving me tips on things to do in the evenings. I was sad to leave this place and wish I could have stayed longer!

Close to the beach, great for diving!

Fantastic staff especially the Gili Air Dive crew who trained us in the hotel pool and took us diving out in the sea. Would have started longer if we could have! Restaurant food was pretty average and our hot breakfast on our second day was unfortunately cold. Pillows were terribly uncomfortable but loved the outside shower and bathroom area. Would definitely recommend this place to others.

Très bel établissement situé dans un coin plus tranquille de l'île. La plage et les environs sont préférables à l'autre côté, à mon avis. Très bon déjeuner, avec possibilité de café latte en extra. Chambre petite, mais confortable.

On the beach

The scratch restaurant linked to the hotel was amazing. Such good food, staff and atmosphere! Room was ok...lighting was poor, lots of ants in outdoor washroom. No slippers provided. I didn't love the room

Good.

Good. It’s relaxed and in a nice spot. There’s a defining smell in the mornings if it’s hot from the sess tanks sadly. Breakfast is excellent. Pools really nice. Basic room (even deluxe which we had).
