「My husband & I and two other couples stayed at Penelope Home for 5 nights. The home is located about halfway between the 2 airports on Crete. (About an hour each direction) We liked the central location and enjoyed hikes, caves, the beach and other activities. The suggestions for restaurants and bakeries by our host were spot on. 「A lovely villa in a peaceful tranquil retreat. Wonderful views of the coast and surrounding hills. Watch the Eagles soaring above. Very peaceful you can listen to the wildlife around you. The nearest Taverna is just over a kilometer away but you are unlikely to encounter a car walking there. Beautiful lake nearby to see the fresh water turtles.」

「Lovely villa in a beautiful setting. Spotless and well equipped. Pool area is overlooked by a very close bedroom balcony from neighbouring villa that shares the grounds. Owners come regularly to clean and empty bins and check all is ok.」

「Very friendly welcome by the owner, with welcome local products and home cooked meal. Villa equipped with all we needed and very spacious for the two of us. Pool and garden well maintained. Garden / pool partially overlooked by nabouring villa, but otherwise very private and the other villa was not occupied the week we were there. Many welcoming local shops and taverners in the area, but not within walking distance. Also many local beaches and other places to visit within a 30 minuit drive.」

「Overall loved the place. There were a few niggles like the garden lights being intentionally turned off detracting from the atmosphere, penny-pinching in the extreme.
