世界遺産地区にとても近い

フロントの方が温かく迎えて下さいました 世界遺産地区を歩いて見学するには最高の立地です。ほとんど歩いてみて回れます。また、静かな環境に立地しています 朝食もおいしく頂けました

すこし厳しめに見てみると。

本来の建物構造の関係でやむおえないとは思うが、部屋の防音性は低い。上から足音、隣から引き戸の音など夜は特に響いた。 また宿全体で宿泊客が多くなると、シャワーの温水がでにくくなる。 そしてどうやっても部屋に蚊が侵入していて睡眠時に刺されているのが非常にストレスであった。 そしてベットマットレスが柔すぎて上半身をうまく支えおらず寝つきにくい印象であった。 部屋に冷蔵庫がないことが他のコメントにも指摘があるものの、フロント脇に共用冷蔵庫はあった。（しかしながら部屋にほしいとおもった） クローゼットに常備されているハンガーの半数がサビがむき出しのハンガーで、こんな安いものなのに変え換えておかないのかと思った。 朝食は６種類ほどから選ぶことができ、量・味的にも満足。スタッフの対応も満足。 立地も観光地近辺であり利便性はよい。

街歩きに便利なホテル

ホテルと言うよりはB&Bですね。 ロケーションは最高です。　どこに行くにもわかりやすい。 宿泊者以外は中に入れませんので、安心です。 ブランコの様なソファー等、家のリビングみたいな感じがします。 そこから見える階段や、中庭も素敵です。 スタッフの方もフレンドリーで良かった。 ただ、ホテル内が土足厳禁となっているので、気になる方はサンダル持って いった方が良いですね。

We were happy to have found this cozy place

This small hotel is very nice designed by an architect to give the relaxed feeling living in an classical Chinese house. It is situated just beside the sightseeing area of Georgetown but in a quiet sidelane to avoid traffic. The personal es very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our stay. Spices Hotel will be our destination at everytime we visit Penang.

The hotel is in the center of George Town and it was very convenient. Room is clean and has a decent size. However, we waited more than 30 min outside because nobody was in hotel, and eventually left our luggage in cafe next door to have breakfast and go sightseeing.

Lovely and Cosy

We had to find a place to stay for the night urgently as a family of 4. Surprisingly, we found available family room for 3 , and even had a pull out bed for the 4th member. It is very near to places where we could do shopping and run errands. The room is really cosy and comfortable. The staff was most helpful and accommodating. We would definitely come back here again in our next trip to Penang!

Everything is superb! Love the interior..the old school building with 5star hospitality and services.. the owner and staff very friendly and nice..walking distance for art street and food..if u come with own car will be hard to find parking in front hotel on daytime as it use public parking But at night will be easy to get..Overall me and family satisfied with our stay even 1night..highly recommended!

A short walk from most of Georgetown.

A beautifully renovated old building located within walking distance of most of the Georgetown's attractions. Clean and comfortable with really nice staff. A great place to spend some time while exploring the fabulous food the town has to offer. Talk to the staff...their recommendations are worth it.

Clean, quiet and very well located just around the corner from the interesting shops and stalls around Lebuh Cannon and Lebuh Armenian. We took an upstairs room but in retrospect would take a ground floor one the next time, as hot air rises and the a/c took a while to cool down the room, and the view from the upper floor wasn’t particularly interesting. That said, I would be happy to recommend staying here for a weekend getaway with your partner - it certainly has more character than a typical chain hotel.

Great location to explore George Town on foot

Clean & comfortable room. I like the shower gel, it smells good :) Great location! Great food within walking distance e.g Char Koay Teow, Fried Oyster, Koay Teow Soup, Nasi Kandar etc. Very near to Armenian Street to explore the wall art. Walking distance to Chew Jetty, Little India, Kimberly Street, Chulia Street etc. My friends & I had a good time exploring George Town on foot at our own pace.

Clean and beautiful hotel with a nice service

Like the place and location around it. We travel by the free CAT bus that take you from the jetty to komtar where you can connect to anywhere in Penang. There are bus stops near Spices too. Night hawker food nearby at lebuh chulia.

Well located for heritage & street arts lovers

I enjoyed our 4D stay at Spices Hotel! Was initially worried when my colleagues from Penang have not heard about it 😅 Turned out it is as the many good reviews have stated - homely (must take off shoes at the main entrance; breakfast cooked on the spot; common fridge and comfortable lounge), welcoming (friendly & helpful staff) and conveniently located (many museums, street arts and famous eating places in Georgetown are within walking distance; otherwise just Grab with friendly drivers). If I must think of anything negative: (1) Grab drivers may not be familiar with short Lorong Lumut. Their GPS may lead to mosque behind the hotel. (2) The sliding door between our room and open balcony does not have a lock. (3) Steps to rooms on upper floor are high. There are also steps to conquer in rooms with lofts. So may be tougher for older folks to manage. Overall, we have a memorable trip. Thanks!

Excellent boutique hotel close to street art

Cozy heritage boutique hotel that is very nicely decorated. Great area in Penang. Friendly personable service. Lots of stairs which might be an issue to some. The staff was very helpful with carrying our heavy luggage though.

Nice location and friendly staff

The staff is welcoming us with big smile and they are very friendly. Also i like the location is very good, nearby Penang Street Art and bus terminal. But there's many mosquito in the room so i asked staff mosquito repellent and they bring it to room so it was not a problem.

Nice hotel with good location, but the service is not up to standard, we stayed there for 2 nights 1. Not a single greeting from reception staff, we did initiate to greet them all the time... 2. We asked for extra hangers, did not get them until the next day we asked again n was told they did not have extra 3.Very little portion of breakfast, not to mention the taste... 4. We ordered nasi Lemark which is part of the choice,n ask if chilli can be separate as we don't want too spicy, but no one gets back to us... Very average service....

Lovely old hotel - with lots and lots of stairs

I had booked the loft room, and though the King-size bed was on the upper floor, I ended up sleeping on the day- bed on the lower floor. The stairs up were very narrow and perhaps the hotel could have stressed this for guests 'of a certain age' where nightly visits to the loo have become a norm! Overall, staff very friendly, and would recommend it for younger guests where mobility is not a concern.
