"Excellently appointed room and ensuite bathroom for the price. The location is quiet and only about 10 minutes walk from the train/bus stations and cricket ground. The staff are friendly. I can highly commend Coco House."

"This place is a gem. The location is PERFECT, beautiful shops and restaurants right on your doorstep and close to the fort. Its in a lovely historic building with the most beautiful woodwork and interior. We had the family room which had two large and comfortable beds. The internet works fantastically - I was able to do a zoom call for work with no issues or delays. Lovely kind staff."

I rented an Airbnb in unawatuna which ended up turning in an awful experience. I had to find a new place last minute and I was really happy when I arrived to snooze. It’s clean, the boss is a respectful and kind person who is available to help guests when in need, the room was spacious with ac and hot water. Ended up paying half of what I paid for the Airbnb nightmare. I extended another night at snooze. I definitely recommend it specifically if you’re a woman traveling alone as I am.

Excellent! We were surprised by this how nice this was. Clean, comfortable rooms that even had a fridge, and air conditioning was nice and strong. The breakfast was wonderful. The location also is great--delightful strolls around the fort and old town, with its many shops, restaurants and museums; also easy access to the nearby train station, or a short tultuk ride to the beach areas of Unawatuna!

The location couldn’t be better, if you are seeking a quiet, out-of-the-way stay, yet in the center of it all. Heading down a narrow gravel alley, this quaint guesthouse is bright, spacious, clean and cheerful. The photos in the listing are quite accurate and reflecting the charm of this inn. My hosts were incredibly gracious and welcoming. Breakfast and tea are easy to linger over on the upstairs patio. I spent a glorious, unhurried hour up there with a book, and I could easily have dozed...

Nice place for the money, but the children were home and started talking early in the morning, you can hear them, so it is not big on privacy or late sleep (after 6am). Walkable to the turtle sanctuary.
