10 Min Walk to Main St., Updated 1840s Historic Home, Stocked Kitchen, W/D,

  • You'll find all of the modern updates to the kitchen and baths in this 3BR 1.5 Bth home but the 1840s charm remains!

    The main bedroom has a queen bed, the 2nd bedroom has a full sized bed and the lower level third bedroom has two twin beds. Eash room has a Roku TV as well.

    We stocked the kitchen with a Thanksgiving meal in mind, so bring your culinary skills!

    The porches are the perfect place to watch the world go by with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine.

    The location is ideal for making your way to the shops and restaurants on Main Street. Leave your car and walk 8-10 minutes and you are in the heart of the fun!

    Grant Park is just across the pedestrian bridge from downtown.

    If you are looking to enjoy the outdoors, The river trail is just below Grant Park and you can kayak on the Galena River. There are kayak rental locations near the river. In the winter, there's skiing or hiking at Chestnut Mountain. We've got some brochures in our Welcome Book as well.

    History is front and center in Galena-- so whether you check out the homes of President Grant, hop on
    the Trolley Tour, visit the Galena History Museum or just walk around the Historic District, you'll feel like a step back in time.

    There is never a shortage of things to do in Galena, no matter the season. We are happy to welcome you to this beautiful part of the world.

    NOTE: The house is on a hill and there are a lot of stairs.

My adult and teenage children and myself absolutely loved this house. It was spacious, clean, cozy, and had all of the expected amenities. Check in was easy peasy. Very close to downtown Galena, we walked there a couple times a day. Would love to stay here again.

The house was lovely and perfect for our July 4th weekend in Galena. Marion sent lots of communication prior to our arrival and made sure everything was perfect once we had checked in. The beds were comfortable, the temperature cool for the 90 degree days, and the water hot. I loved the access to the washer and dryer. We didn't have to do laundry when we got home! On our next trip to Galena, I would love to stay here again.

Beautiful home away from home

My 3 sisters & I stayed 2 nights at this home to do some shopping and eating in Galena. The home was so clean and had such a beautiful charm to it. We loved it and enjoyed it tremendously.
