Great little hotel in the heart of Gainesville, newly renovated! My wife and I stopped in cause we were passing through, we enjoyed walking to some great restaurants at night and enjoyed the coffee in the morning. Good place for a quick stay! I love how they took an old motel and made it new again with tons of character.

Parking was great their lobby and bar Twist was very modern and zen they did a great job remodeling the place and the rooms were very comfy only thing is they could’ve had better AC system.

The hotel was great! I did feel the skimped out on replacing the A/C. Although they worked fine they did not match the new feeling of the rest of the hotel. The lounge/bar is fantastic! Great coffee great drink and chill vibe.

A good-sized clean room with an attached bathroom and a comfortable bed. A few things that would improve the experience include an electric kettle, a fridge, hooks in the bathroom, and ideally a blowdryer--these things are among the basic amenities in most hotels (the kettle and the hooks in particular). Overall, this place definitely works for a short stay. The staff were nice and accommodating.

We were given a room key upon check in and, when we returned much later, someone else had been checked into that room. It’s always an awkward moment when you walk into someone else’s room while they’re sleeping at 1 AM. No amenities to speak of (vending, ice machine bucket, etc.). Furnishings were decent, pillows were terribly hard. Room was clean but very very loud. Not a great part of town. We definitely will seek alternate accommodations next time.

The renovation of the property is impressive! The staff was very kind and welcoming. The office/bar area is a nice amenity, room was clean and the parking is easy. Unfortunately, the air stopped working in the middle of the night and it was hot. We couldn't get it to work and there is no fan. The mini-fridge is only big enough for 2 cans. Bring a cooler.

Since the property has been newly renovated, it stands to reason that the experience should be good. Good basic accommodations were provided and it was comfortable and seemed secure. The staff was very capable and went out of their way to ensure we had a good stay. Only real complaint was a squeaky bathroom door and the lack of an exhaust fan in the bathroom. A little larger refrigerator would have made the the stay fantastic! The parking lot is tight and it is tough to park larger vehicles. Overall, a great place to stay.

I had read reviews saying the property was clean. I was only looking for a place to sleep for myself and my daughter, as we would be leaving early to tour UF. I sent a message to the property letting them know we would be a late check-in, probably around 11pm. They said that was fine. I received an email that gave me the following information: Gainesville Lodge 3: (insert 4 numbers not leaving that information in case they re-use codes). We made it right before 11. Staff is only present 8a-8p. I found room 3 but didn’t see a key pad and the lighting by the room was sparse. I called the number that was on the office door for assistance. We did get that figured out. The email they sent me did not have a # symbol in it so even if I had discovered the key pad, it wouldn’t have opened. Once we opened the door, we were greeted with dozens upon dozens of dead love bugs on the floor. There were live bugs on both beds, the pillows, everywhere. While on the phone with management I said something about the bugs and they just said “we do the best we can and sweep when we can”. Needless to say, we did not sleep well. I kept feeling like something was crawling on me. When we went into the bathroom we found more bugs in the sink and all over one of the bath towels. It was absolutely disgusting. We left by 6:30ish because we simply could not be in that room any longer. Spend a little more and stay at a better property.

I wouldn't take a hooker in there.

The remote for tv did not work. The shower looked like it had black mold in it. The pool was unuseable. Thank god the ac worked. The toilet seat was lose from the toilet. On the plus side there was coffee but you had to walk to the office to get it.

Hotel was only supposed to be 63.00 and ended up being $77.00. It was old, bathroom looked filthy. I was scared to take a shower. Looked better on site.

Just a simple cheap motel in the midst of downtown

I was staying here for a couple nights while moving out of my apt in Gainesville which is close by. If they renovate the property, get rid of all the nasty musty carpeting, some flat screen TVs and high-speed internet, they can raise the prices a lot. GNV in general does not have good hotels, so even less to be expected from a motel. The internet was very slow and iffy, so I ended up going to the UF library. Having stayed at the Hilton UF Conference center for a much higher rate and basically getting similar service in a far flung location, I can say this: save your money and stay at this cheap dingy motel in a much better location in downtown GNV. Spend the money you saved to go to a nice restaurant, drink at a bar close by and walk back to Gainesville lodge.
