Gaeta is a beautiful town and this apartment is located in the Medievale section, which means it’s a short drive to the beaches, but walking distance to the the historic section as well as many bars and restaurants. As other reviewers noted, there are many steps to get to the town (124 to be exact), which didn’t bother us but I mention only because if you are physically unable to do that, this would not be the apartment for you.
Regarding the apartment- the location is great as mentioned above and the terrace is large and comfortable with an amazing view. The apartment itself, however, does not appear to have been renovated for decades and we didn’t find it particularly comfortable. A small investment to update the bathrooms, kitchen, furniture and linens would go a long way. The listing claims to have WIFI, but it’s actually one of those personal hotspot tools that barely works when used for its original purpose. As far as providing WIFI for an entire apartment, it does not work 90% of the time and because the building is so old, you can’t get service using your own 3G/5G data throughout most of the apartment either (personal data works well on the terrace.) So if you need WIFI access, take note.
We have given the apartment 3 stars due to location and the gorgeous terrace, but if you are a person who enjoys a baseline amount of luxury/comfort on your vacation, you may find yourself disappointed.
