The Mark at Surfside, Apt. 4

This is a motel style bottom floor apartment. It has two queen bedrooms, and one bathroom with a stand-up shower. Bath towels, toilet paper, shampoo set, and hand soap are provided.

Kitchen with coffee pot, dishes, and utensils provided. There is a smart TV with fire stick in the living room and Wi-Fi throughout the entire property. The bedroom and the living room have a window unit with AC, fan, and heating.

Bench outside of the unit for your use. Outdoor area with picnic tables, and charcoal grills. Please bring your own charcoal and grilling utensils if you intend to use the grill. Neat, clean, safe, and affordable place to stay less than a block from the beach.

*The Village of Surfside has always had issues with its water. It has a bit of an off color, odor and flavor. We have installed a filtration system to help with this and the water is safe for use, but it doesn't fully remove these issues. Please look to bring bottled water if this will be an issue so that you have access to it.*

Nice place

It's a nice, clean place. Two women and my son. We felt safe. Very close to the beach. Pictures are out dated. Table was very small . Couch was outdoor furniture. But everyone was very nice. We never seen or spoke to the property manager. The place was very clean and beds and pillows very nice. Bring a blanket. But I nice inexpensive place to stay.

Not like photos

This was my third stay at this property. It’s always been bare bones, but in the past the listings were accurate this time it was not. If I understand correctly, it’s under new management, and they have supposedly done a bunch of updates, which seem to have been all just pictures, not reality. The listing showed a comfy couch, a plush chair, dressers and solid side tables by the bed, a bathroom vanity, and a full kitchen with stove. Instead, there was an outdoor seating instead of the couch, no plush chair, no stove, no dressers, and the solid furniture was replaced with dollar store flimsy tray tables. The bathroom vanity was missing and instead was a pedestal sink. I have never seen such a blatant bait and switch. The host did offer me a small discount, but I would have much preferred to get what was advertised. The host said that it was because of the hurricane 8 months ago, and that nobody else has had a problem with it. It doesn’t take 8 months to take new pictures or replace the furniture. I do love the location. The bed was acceptable. I would stay again if the listing was updated to accurately reflect reality so I can pack extra pillows and blankets to try to make something out of the seating area. The place wasn’t horrible, just that it was badly misrepresented. It was functional, but barely.

Weekend Beach Trip

Convenient to the beach and ground floor location

I was happy to find a ground floor location a few minute walk from the beach where we could bring our dogs. The beds and sofas were comfortable. Having a full size refrigerator/freezer and microwave was appreciated. There's a stove, but we didn't use it. The street was peaceful. The only surprise was the bathroom being in one of the bedrooms - but I traveled with my young children and mother so that was not an issue for us.

Great spot with easy access and pets welcome

This is our fourth or fifth stay and we love the easy access to the property and the other island amenities first of all the beach! Clean, comfortable beds and linens, well equipped with comforts of home. Cold AC in each room. good water pressure. Didn’t need a thing while we were there. Others coming and going are always pleasant. Great walking options for the pups, walk or drive to the beach, the store and a few great restaurants!

Ok little place but two huge cockroaches

The place is ok and the location as well. Close walk to the beach. However two huge cockroaches were in the kitchen and really scared the kids.

Great location & perfect for a beach trip

The place is what you'd expect and perfect for a quick beach getaway. We liked that it was easy to get to and dog friendly. The only complaint is that there was a musky, mildew smell in the living room. The beds were super comfortable and when we shut the bedroom doors at night, that smell seemed better. It may just be that the window unit in the main living room needs to be replaced. It's also worth mentioning that there is a strong sulfur smell in the water. We didn't drink it, but it was present in the shower and when brushing our teeth. The tv remote doesn't seem to work or needs batteries. We were basically limited to one channel on the tv, so I'd recommend bringing a book to keep you occupied when you are in the place. Marcus, the host was very responsive and communicated along the way. Overall, it's a great beach getaway even on the crowded Memorial Day weekend!

A little slice of Heaven

Sweet little apartment that was amazing. We walked the beach every night, was very relaxed and calm. Much needed from our hectic schedules. My teenagers got along in the cozy space. Clean, fun and I can’t wait to go back!

Enjoyed our stay, just a few strands of hair on bedding and in shower drain

Other than the loose hair issue in the bed and shower, I would have given it a five stars. Our apt was very nice and homely quiet feel to a much needed getaway from hustle and bustle of work. Also, when we had an emergency, the landlord came quickly within five minutes. She was super nice. Thank you so much.

Wonderful holiday stay

My husband and two dogs rented for the Christmas holiday. Place was exactly what we wanted. We had a wonderful time in surfside love this place. We highly recommend staying here and enjoying this beautiful friendly island.
