Welcome to Erna and Elgin’s Haus, an adorable and historical home, once on the edge of Fredericksburg city limits, this historic home has stayed in the family from generation to generation. This charming historic home still boasts much of its original architecture, ambiance, and antique artifacts of our proud local German heritage! This beautiful house is private and has a gorgeous backyard area, perfect to unwind with a glass of wine after a long day of exploring Fredericksburg.

The Erna and Elgin's Haus has a fully equipped kitchen, a formal dining room surrounded by multiple antiques, two spacious living areas, one of them providing you with a daybed, two spacious bedrooms with comfortable king-sized beds, and two bathrooms give plenty of room to enjoy a great stay and have a good rest! This beautiful home also provides you access to two bathrooms, one equipped with a gorgeous antique tub, perfect for a weekend of relaxation. You will love drinking a cup of coffee and watching the sun come up from the two front porch swings.

Everything exceeded our expectations. Loved location, however, Local traffic on Main Street (US290) and Olive Street, was loud. Other than that 👌

Girl’s Wine Country Week

The property offers secure off-street parking, which is a great feature for a home so close to Main Street. It served as a comfortable home base for our stay, particularly for those looking to explore the surrounding area. However, the layout wasn’t ideal for four people hoping to spend evenings in, relaxing and watching sports on TV, as the shared spaces felt a bit limited in that regard.As is common with historic homes from the 1920s, there is noticeable floor sloping, which was something we were aware of during our stay. Additionally, the proximity to a busy highway intersection brought more traffic noise than we had anticipated, both indoors and out, which may be a consideration for light sleepers.Overall, while the property has its charm and could suit certain travelers, it wasn’t the best fit for our particular needs on this trip, especially at this price point. It’s a unique option for those who appreciate historic homes and don’t mind some quirks that come with them.

Noisy Cozi Cottage

Cute little house, deco was appropriate for age of the home. The beds were comfy and the heating unit was working well for the unexpected cold snap we had. Major complaint; As a get away destination I was hoping to sleep in and wake slowly. This house is right off the main street through Fredericksburg and traffic is terrible on the weekends especially, as the main through way Semi truck are constant at all hours. So if you want to sleep in and sleep overnight it would not be a fit. Also I requested and early check in and said no problem can we use the card to add the charge of 60? This was disappointing for sure. Coming from out of town we wanted to drop our things off and start enjoying our trip but we decided against paying the extra fee.

The house was good size.

We had a great first trip to Fredericksburg. The house was a good size for 5 people. It did get home at night since you could not adjust the ac below 69. Other and that it was great!
