We loved our stay!!! The house is exquisite! Mary Windsor Cline, the innkeeper, was a phenomenal hostess. The breakfast was the best breakfast Ive had in a very long time. I can not emphasize enough how much we loved this place.
I only stayed for one night and I wish I was able to stay longer then that. But there are not enough words to describe how amazing my experience was. Mary was a wonderful host, and full of information! And the history of the place was just fascinating! I'll be definitely be returning!
Braehead Manor is an historical treasure. Strategically situated along Lee Drive this B&B delivers relaxation, and southern hospitality. Mary sets the stage with a warm welcome and it only gets better. Highly recommended!!! Rick N
Prior to our arrival we were asked if we had allergies. We arrived and were immediately greeted by Mary, the innkeeper. She gave us a tour of the home and the history. She asked what time we would like breakfast the next morning. The breakfast the next morning was amazing! The coffee was from a local roaster and Mary advised she buys everything fresh and tries to buy local. She made a stuffed apple pecan French toast. It was divine. Fresh fruit, and coffee cake. It was such a beautiful and relaxing stay.
We had a wonderful stay at Braehead. The house is beautiful; it is like taking a trip back in time. Mary's breakfasts are delicious. I would love to stay there again sometime!
Everything about our stay was wonderful. From the beautiful accommodations and delicious breakfast to hanging out with Mary, the Innkeeper. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will stay there again.
This is a five star/diamond value! Everything about our stay was extraordinary. From the beautiful home and rooms, to delightful breakfasts, and the ever-helpful and friendly, Mary. We had a memorable stay, and are extremely grateful for all of Mary's help with planning our vow renewal.
The weekend was perfect. The next time we are in Fredericksburg, we will stay at Braehead Manor again.
With its own Civil War history, the Braehead Manor is the perfect place to stay when you're touring northern Virginia battlefields. We enjoyed breakfast in the dining room where Gen. Lee ate on the morning of the Battle of Fredericksburg and stood under the tree where he tied his horse, Traveller. It's an easy drive to several battlefields--including Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Wilderness and Spotsylvania Courthouse.
Our hostess, Mary, was a delight and was happy to accommodate our special dietary needs. We'll be going back soon. Too many battlefields to explore in one trip.
We loved the beautiful historic home and Mary, the innkeeper, was charming and very helpful. She made us feel right at home and couldn't have been nicer.
Our stay at Braehead was special on many levels. As a part of my personal family history it is comforting to see the home restored and preserved. As a B&B Braehead meets the highest standards of comfort and charm, a most welcoming experience.
For those interested in history Braehead is unique in its location.
We had a lovely time and our innkeeper Mary Windsor Cline was attentive, helpful and most considerate. We would highly recommend this B & B to friends and family.
Gorgeous setting in the middle of a National Park. Mary, the innkeeper, prepares the most delicious breakfasts we have ever had- sorry mom:-) As a Fredericksburg native, Mary recommends the perfect activities and dinner restaurants in the area. We cannot wait to plan our next visit.
For the most privacy, we recommend the Jane Howison Beale Suite which is located by itself on the 2nd floor. This was our room for our four night stay.
This was a great place to stay for our anniversary! The manor is beautifully kept and a wonderful combination of history, charm and modern comforts. Mary Windsor Kline's attentiveness made us feel right at home, and she even handled our dietary request with some awesome gluten-free spice bread! Also, it's just a very quick drive to the wonderful shops, restaurants and charm that historic Fredericksburg has to offer. We definitely recommend Braehead Manor!
Stayed here for a weekend and enjoyed every second of it!
To start, this building is very cool and has a lot of historical significance. Everything in the house is original to the time period and it's fun to walk around and look at all the pieces of history. The beds are SO comfortable and clean and the bathrooms are large with all the amenities you could ever need. Mary the innkeeper is just a delight. She joined us for conversation over breakfast (which was delicious by the way) and really was the most gracious and energetic host you could ask for while also letting you have your space and let the house be yours for the stay. We'll definitely be back soon and highly recommend this place if you're in Fredericksburg or surrounding area.
