You get what you pay for and I couldn't complain as we were a late booking. We had everything we needed, comfortable bed, hot shower and private bathroom. Jesus (spanish manager) did all he could to accomodate us. If you want 5 star and want to pay 4 times the price stay elsewhere but this was very suitable for us, no complaints here 😊

Needed a garbage bin in the kitchen area and at least looked at daily. Great stop for the area.
The whole place could do with some care, very tired looking building, peeling paint, not that clean, could nit connect to the wifi, no tv and no cups to make a drink in, The bed however was really comfortable and we did sleep well.
The room was very clean. But it says wifi which unfortunately does not work unless you are outside. The TV works off of wifi, so no TV to be able to unwind. The frame on the twin bed needs to be bigger as you fall off either side giving you mininum area to sleep. But it was great distance to the Fox Glacier walk and Lake Matheson.
We were very excited to come to Fox Glacier for our heli-hike tour. That is, until we drove into the ruins of Jade Hotel. We were greeted with an overgrown building, trash, and a sketchy appearance. The registration employee was kind but quickly rushed us out to search for our room. The room was dark, smelled of mold, had no AC or airflow, a plywood-like bed frame, and had leftover hair in the bathroom from previous users. If not for the cold outside air, we would have considered camping in the mountains. I am not sure where else you should seek refuge, but I would not recommend the Jade Hotel, despite its deceiving name. Best of luck and good travels.
The hotel is in very poor, unsightly, condition. The service at reception was absent to minimal. The room was clean but a little tatty despite being said to be one of their best. The TV was connected via WiFi whose channel was not connected to the internet. The satellite TV was not working. Both faults were beyond the capability of the staff to correct. I eventually reset & tuned the sat & its LNB myself.
The nearby Bestsy Jane restaurant was great & improved the overall experience.
Sadly we had an unpleasant stay at this property. Buildings very run down. Unpleasant really strong smell like chlorine in room. Staff changed room which was appreciated. Staff did try and help but limited english.Water had to be boiled for use.
The weirdest thing was tea and coffee provided but no cups or kettle. Manager stated owner would not provide milk for guests. Outside areas were very untidy and uncared for looking.
Appreciated that staff tried their best but was a miserable stay.
Clean, hot shower, soap, shampoo, conditioner, towels, AC, wifi didn’t work, had to reprogram the dishtv. Honestly doesn’t deserve it’s 3/10 rating. More like 6-7/10. 5 stars to give it a bump. This place gets the job done.
Terrible room smells like mildew and damp, kitchen smells and was the worst I’ve ever been in. Overall this would have to be the most overpriced room I’ve ever been in. No milk for the tea or coffee and no top sheets.
There was a toilet leak - although we were refunded half the cost - walking on wet floor in the cubicle wasn’t ideal
The whole place was shabby, painting not done in a long while, rundown and health and safety issue with the chicken wire on the stairs which was broken and in need of urgent attention Tge fridge in our room froze all our goods in the night . No milk provided with the tea and the pillow were rough and ready - for $250 it was a poor show but the reduction because of toilet leak was welcome

As a room where we stayed for a night was clean and convenient.
However, the whole building needs some maintenance.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
While the exterior appearance was quaint the rooms were small, outdated, and the shower wouldn’t drain
We left within the first ten minutes of arriving. There is no form of heating in the rooms and it was just an all round outdated place that needs a lot of attention.
Coffee facilities, but no mugs or teaspoons.
No hot water when w went to have a shower, not many guests.
When we ran water, it was brown.
No wifi where we were. Had to sit in front of office to get reception.
Surroundings run down

The kitchen was terrible very dirty and rubbish was full and nobody clean. There’re no other tenant in that hotel when we stayed. There was no rubbish bin inside the room as well. Staff passed the key to us then left the hotel already and not appear anymore.
This place has choppy WiFi. It is very hard to communicate with front desk as they don’t speak English. There was only one who could and it’s hard to find him. This place does not have a phone so if you’re driving and if you want to make changes or something then good luck

Run down
Very run down and unclean. Mould spores in our shower and rubbish left outside near car park and in cooking and eating area for couple days. Did not feel comfortable in the environment provided. Generally don’t ask for much- I don’t mind hostels but this was not up to spec.
Once arriving at hotel property appears very run down and unkept. We were show. Our room, room was dirty ( beer bottle under bed but visible without bending over), black sand/dirt on sheets, floor not vacuumed, no garbage bin, no cups, towels holey and stained. No wifi available unless standing outside. We are well travelled people and are used to all types of rooms. I’m never fussed about age of property but cleanliness is a must! When we asked about changing room he said it was booked but when we were out around 10 pm many rooms still empty. Overall very disappointed! This room was $250 for two twin beds! Not worth it!
Terrible experience. No coffee, no english breakfast tea , no sugar, no MILK, no kettle in the room. When requested they said they do t have any kettle. There was only one kettle (although they had put green tea two pouches in room) . Other couple had same issues like us and were ready to leave becquse of zero amenities in hotel. Major thing is when we entered into rooms there was very strong chlorine smell. Other couple in room 36 complained about the same. Most of the staff cannot communicate in English so it was really hard to explain to them the issue we all were facing. In the end i wont recommend this hotel and will never stay here.
It’s cheap for a reason. We found:
None of the staff in reception spoke English very well or at all.
Dyer wouldn’t warm up so ended up going around the corner to another lodge to finish it.
Hair all over the bathroom? I think someone had had a hair cut or something in there and not cleared it up.
Kitchen was dirty and ill equipped. There was no fridge and had to after a Google translate conversation with check in staff was allowed to use the freezer for my cool packs.
Generally just very dirty and smelled very damp.
Wi-Fi didn’t work.
Only plus was The beds and sheets where clean but I think this was only due to an external company doing the bedding for them.
I stay in basic/cheap accommodation quite often and there where some standards here ‘the jade’ just failed to meet. With a bit of effort it could be a really nice place. Sort it out!
