"Did not receive checkin email with code for door as unmanned after 5:30pm so had to interupt my stay to get to the hotel before close. Received code for later arrival 9:15 pm to find no hot water, towels ripped, unclean room and bed unfit for sleeping had on of the worst hotel stays ever could not stay the next two nights so booked in the Royal worth the extra. Still no refund after two weeks. Keep away. Was told that i could have phoned them. Did not as i thought as we were late the hot water may be good in the morning, but not still cold. "

"We booked the Lily Room at the Blue Pigeon for our wedding anniversary, hoping for a quiet, restorative escape after a demanding few months. Unfortunately, the stay didn't quite deliver on that promise — though it wasn't without its highlights. Arrival set an unexpected tone. We walked into what appeared to be a large, lively bottomless brunch gathering — very much a party atmosphere — and could barely hear the receptionist over the noise. For guests seeking a peaceful retreat, this was quite a jolt, and felt at odds with how the hotel presents itself. The room itself was genuinely lovely. Beautifully decorated, well-furnished, and thoughtfully put together with real attention to detail — exactly what you'd hope for at this price point, and credit where it's due. Sadly, sleep was impossible. The church directly opposite chimes on the hour, every hour, throughout the night — something we weren't forewarned about. The room also ran very hot despite no radiators being on, and opening the window only amplified the bells. By morning, having had no sleep whatsoever, we missed breakfast entirely so can’t comment on that. The Blue Pigeon clearly has the bones of something special, shows real care in its design. But the overall experience felt confused — the branding suggests a calm, boutique bolthole, while the reality on our visit was quite different. A little more consistency between the two, would consider returning! "

"I wish I could stay in a place as well appointed as Printer's Place more often! Up some stairs from the front door right away you find lots of thoughtful details. There are two good sized bedrooms, comfortable mattresses, a good shower over a bath and a good L-shaped couch. I can't fault the refurbishment. We stayed in February and you need the fire lit, if you plan on a night in at this time of year. (Some logs were provided but I needed more for the second night. The local pet shop sells sacks. The guest file mentions a surcharge for lighting the fire but when I asked the office I was reassured this was old information) Once lit the place is very cosy. I would definitely stay again."

"We (a group of 11 girls) stayed at Stone Hall for a weekend of laughter and relaxation and boy did we achieve this! Stone Hall is a stunningly beautiful home, everything you could wish for with regards to cleanliness, equipped to the hilt, so much space to enjoy and a beautiful place to relax in. The pool table was a brilliant addition. Shame the weather didn’t allow us to play tennis but there was plenty of equipment had we been able to. The smallest of niggles was the fact that not all windows opened, especially the bathroom ones which is very unusual. We had a wonderful, relaxing time & will definitely return. There really is nothing not to like!"
