A historic and unique detached country house just a few minutes from the monuments of the historic center and very close to the Piazzale Michelangelo viewpoint. The perfect place to relax after exploring the city and to enjoy some time in a peaceful, green setting.
The Space The house is located just a few hundred meters from the Arno River, at the foot of the hill overlooking Florence, offering a breathtaking view of Piazzale Michelangelo and the Abbey of San Miniato al Monte. A unique architectural feature is that, despite its small size, it is a detached, independent house, which gives the living room an invaluable sense of ease and freedom. Dating back to the Renaissance (it was once the residence of the caretaker of the castle located a little higher up the hill), the house has architectural features that are not very modern: the rooms aren’t very bright, and each room is on a different level, with undulating floors near the staircases and steps leading from one room to another. But that’s exactly what makes it special: the exposed beams in the living room, the stone exterior walls, the steps, and the fireplace made of traditional “pietra serena,” the old terracotta floors, the views of the garden, and the entrance porch (much appreciated by smokers) give the house a very welcoming and relaxed atmosphere.
The living room and study offer comfortable spaces to spend time together, work, or enjoy a quiet, secluded corner.
There are two bedrooms—one single and one double—both equipped with storage for clothing (the single bedroom, in particular, features a large closet with sliding doors) and spacious, comfortable beds with ergonomic mattresses. The comfort of the bedrooms and the quiet of the neighborhood ensure a restful and peaceful night’s sleep. A fourth guest can sleep in the study, as shown in the photos. An additional guest can sleep on the sofa bed in the living room. This way, the house can accommodate up to five people.
Guest Access Guests have access to all rooms in the house and to the garden. Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the house, but the garden and the porch offer comfortable spaces for smokers in all weather conditions.
The bedrooms feature drawers, nightstands, and closets that provide plenty of space for clothes and luggage.
The kitchen, which does not have a dishwasher but is well-stocked with pots, pans, and all kinds of tableware, is equipped with all necessary appliances: an oven, a stovetop, a toaster, microwave, and a large refrigerator with a freezer. During their stay, guests will find everything they need for breakfast: ground and instant coffee, tea, fruit juices, fresh milk, cereal, cookies, bread, butter, jam, and sugar.
There is a fireplace in the living room. As stated in the house rules, for safety reasons we prefer that it not be used.
The bathroom has a tub with a shower, and guests will also find soap, shampoo, and body wash. There is also a hair dryer in one of the drawers. In another drawer, you’ll find laundry detergent and fabric softener for the washing machine. For instructions on using the washing machine, please refer to the house rules, where you’ll also find additional guidelines for using the iron.
There’s also a bike rack in the garden where you can park your bike (your own bike or one you may have rented during your stay in Florence).
Other things to keep in mind In Florence, as in many other Italian cities, there is a tourist tax: It costs 4.50 euros per person per night (up to a maximum of 7 nights). Children 12 and under are exempt. The total amount of the tax is automatically charged to your Airbnb invoice.PGJyPgPGJyPgRegistration numberPGJyPgIT048017C2ZZANC2Y3
