Waterfront Cottage in Beautiful Hoopers Island

Enjoy the quiet and serenity of Hoopers Island from our cozy waterfront cottage. Take a break from the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life in this little town.
Enjoy the sunrise relaxing on the back porch; sip your morning coffee or pick some local crabs on the back porch. Take a short walk down to the bridge to explore the small beaches and collect shells and sea glass!

Have dinner around the fire pit located by the water - bring your camp chairs for extra seating. We have added a new extended dock at the end of the pier for ease of relaxing, swimming, floating, kayaking, fishing, crabbing etc.!

Our home is equipped with Smart TVs, Sonos Speakers, and FiberOptic Hi Speed Internet. There is an outdoor propane grill provided for your use.

Fishing and crabbing are allowed off of the pier. Hoopers Island General Store can help supply a temporary license, your tackle needs, or bring your own! Make sure you bring your fishing rod! We do have a few crab pots that are available for use tied off along the pier.

Please note Hoopers Island is a very remote location and does not have a supermarket on the island. The General Store has basic needs, but it is advised to stop on your way down to shop for food and drinks! Stop in Cambridge (30 mins from the property) on your way in for groceries. Cambridge is home of some great restaurants downtown and on the waterfront!

Great spot from which to explore Dorchester County and the eastern shore. Cabin was comfortable and the view of the bay from the dock was incredible. Would stay again!

A Sweet, Comfortable Stay

This is a small, sweet, comfortable cottage, and was just perfect for our brief getaway from the hurly-burly. The house is very well equipped, especially the kitchen, so cooking the local seafood was easy. The decor (loved the faux fireplace) was charming and welcoming, down to the live Poinsettia plant on the table when we got there.

One of the most relaxing vacations ever! The cottage was so cute and clean. The cupboards were stocked with everything you could think of. The view of the bay was so gorgeous and the pier was so perfect for fishing and crabbing. We loved that we could bring our dog with us. We will definitely vacation here again!

Great Place

This is a great place to stay on the Eastern Shore. Loved the dock, fire pit, and bird watching. Our dog loved the yard as well and he made a friend with the neighbors dog on the other side of the fence. Very clean and comfortable cottage with everything we needed to enjoy our stay in the area. Liked it so much we have already booked another stay.

The cottage was cute and clean! The sunrise from the bed was breath taking. We enjoyed waking up in the morning to check the crab pots out on the dock. Very clean small cottage in a beautiful spot. I was able to swim off the dock. There was plenty of outdoor space with comfortable Adirondack chairs. Very quiet at night and the beds were comfortable. Our host was most kind.

Our stay on Hooper’s Island

House was very cozy. Had all the amenities we needed! Right out the back door was an amazing view of the water and beautiful sunrise every morning. Very quiet. We loved it here and plan on coming back. Step outside the front door with your bike and take a ride along the breathtaking Cheasapeake.

Amazing Stay! Amazing Home!

We can't say enough good things about our long weekend stay! This was our first time in the area, and it was so quiet, peaceful, and beautiful. The views from the home were stunning, and everything was clean, welcoming, and bright—exactly what we needed for a little getaway. My husband and our dogs absolutely loved it. We spent most of our time outdoors, but when we were inside, the home was cozy, warm, and comforting. We slept great every night. The host was communicative and helpful, and we can't wait to come back again and again!

This is a unique property with expansive water views. Quiet neighborhood with wonderful and helpful caretakers. We spent 3 nights with our 5 month old puppy and thoroughly enjoyed it. Had dinner in 2 nights and went to Old Salty’s one night for crabcakes. Very good service and great food. Brought our boat and had a great time. The cottage was immaculate and extremely well equipped.

Peace and quiet

This little house was perfect for the 2 of us. So many thoughtful touches. Bottled water and ice on hand. First aid kit. Wi-Fi. Electric fireplace for ambience and actual heat. AC/ heat in each room that could be controlled separately. Comfy beds and living room furniture. Hot shower with great water pressure. Beautiful view- right on the water. Super quiet. Within 30 minutes to a hour of everything we wanted to see and do. Would love to stay there again.

we loved the wild location

the Hoopers Island area is amazingly wild and beautiful. we loved the Harriet Tubman visitors center just a short trip away, and the Blackwater Refuge just incredibly beautiful. the winter birds! we learned so much about the history and culture of the lower islands.the house is more cabin style, smaller than we anticipated, but we got used to that. it was full-on winter weather and wind, so we couldn't kayak as we'd hoped, and the coast was mostly rocks so hard to walk along. it's a place for boating or fishing and swimming off the docks in the warmer weather. seafood restaurants amazing in the area. we met some people living there year round who were welcoming and kind. the only real problem - the stove top didn't work properly and was dangerous - this was unknown to the host and is totally fixable. and the coffee set up had been lost somehow, another easy fix. the hot water was good and the place cosy. the outdoor fire pit and cooking area looked inviting but it was too windy to use. time of year restricted us quite a bit

Nice getaway

Great little spot for a long weekend getaway. Very quiet, little traffic. It is remote, so stopping in Cambridge for groceries is recommended.
