"We absolutely LOVE this place! Everything is top-notch! I booked this place at a last minute because a wildfire started nearby our previous hotel. We drove in the middle of night to get out of wildfire area and got this place at midnight..check in closed at 9pm but we explained our situation to the manager , and she let us stay. "This hotel was a historic property dating back to the 14th century. Walking the cloisters and hallways was magical. Don’t miss the museum in the crypt below the hotel. So much history, dating back to the Bronze Age. I have never stayed in such an amazing property. Magnificent!"

"A beautifully maintained property, room very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Charming and elegant owners, justifiably proud of there home and business. A petting 'zoo' of lovely birds and animals is included in their land. Dogs were welcomed and good safe walking is immediately outside the gate. Lovely breakfast included. Nearby town did not have much to offer but we ate well there."

"Only stayed for one night and hotel worked well for what we needed. The light from the AC/thermostat panel is quite bright and could be disturbing to some people. It defeats the purpose of black out blinds. Otherwise the room was comfortable and the hotel is well located. The parking is convenient and easy to access."

"We stayed here for 2 nights and it was alright for what we needed it for. Nothing special. We didn’t realize just how in the middle of nowhere it would be. It’s quite remote and the country roads to get there are a bit tricky to navigate at night. We were exploring comporta for the two days that we were there but it’s about a 40 min drive so if you’re thinking of exploring comporta just keep that in mind. Also, there are no doors in the bathroom which we did not enjoy. Lastly, the room itself had some things that needed fixing. For example, the bottom of the door was completely falling off and the floor which is made up of some type of cork looked like it needed a refresh - it was stained on multiple areas. The breakfast included was also just ok - the eggs were cold and so was the bacon. We got to breakfast at 10 AM so I guess if you’re an early riser it might’ve been warm but they could also invest in better equipment to keep the food warm for the rest of us that are jet lagged and not up at the crack of dawn. Overall, it was just an ok experience. "
