Don’t Book through Hotels.com!!!

WARNING!! While the hotel itself looks cute, and I’m sure it is, we didn’t actually stay because when we got there at 10pm at night, we were told they didn’t use Hotels.com so they were booked for the night. The gentleman walked us down the street to a different property they own and said we could stay there but that we needed to pay cash for it. We didn’t have a choice because at that time of night, we weren’t going to find anywhere else to stay. I had been emailing with the hotel in advance and he never mentioned this so the whole thing feels like a scam of sorts. Everyone was very kind and the other hotel was nice but we paid twice - both through hotels.com and via cash. We’ve been fighting hotels.com to get a refund since.
