"Bar was nice. Inside and outside seating. Had a great dark beer. Did not spend much time in the room. The shower was great. Bed was comfortable. Too bad they did not include breakfast. Price was very high. This is a new hotel in the Villages and nothing else is there. The town is built but no stores or restaurants have moved in yet. Town square has nightly music but you have to bring your own chair. It's better to go to an established area of the Villages."

"Needs to replace outlets they are loose. So hard to charge devices. Breakfast needs more choices of food. But would stay again."

"Everything was good but the room was not clean. Looked like that had not vacuumed on the side of the bed near window! Chips on ground near headboard of the bed and dirt next to the movable chair. "

"The room was very clean the staff was excellent especially the Spanish lady on second shift I was unable to locate the hotel I had to call her three times and without attitude or any sense of anger she talked me right in to the hotel with no issues we were there for basketball tournament so we had early games so we ddnt get a chance to have breakfast…parking was ok but as to be expected with so many different teams and other regular travelers but overall it was a pleasant experience "

"I will start by saying the front desk person from my check-in day was quite nice and helpful. I wanted to change my check-out date but could not because I had booked through Expedia. However, they allowed me to check-in early as a way to help balance my loss of money for the last night. Additionally, I will say there was a sign qualifying the Wingate had recently been purchased and was under going a remodel. I wish I had been made aware prior to booking. In fact, I would say the quality of location reminded me of a low-rent motel with enclosed hallways. In general, the common areas of the hotel were dirty, and I only ate breakfast one time. It was quite bad. To qualify, I did not try the waffles. Also, the vending machines were mostly empty so make sure to bring your own snacks...and there was only one functioning ice machine at the location. I had a malfunctioning light over my sink and requested it to be fixed during my check-in day. I stayed a total of three nights and it was never fixed or replaced. The front desk person at the time of my request asked me a question I thought was weird. He asked if they had my permission for the maintenance person to enter my room. In short, if I had paid $40 - $50 dollars a night, I would have been satisfied and given them a 4 or 5 star rating. However, I did not, so I am given them a 2 rating."

"First room was extremely noisy due to surrounding road traffic. Staff was very accommodating, moving us to the back of the building where it was much quieter."
