The hotel staff-named Vanessa, set the pace for ease of stay with courteous and warm reception. She obliged me with every details for memorable stays. In fact she earned the hotel my 5-star rating. However, my assigned room was neatly arranged, the bathroom cleaned, and kitchen was provided with necessary items. The only minus was unavailability of breakfast, except coffee/tea. Unlike other Candlewood hotels which I have stayed in the past, Washington Fairfax lacked breakfast option, so also lacked in-door relaxation space away from own-hotel room.

Clean 1BR suite, great for a stay with child(ren). Excellent location in the heart of Fairfax within 5 minutes of Fair Oaks Mall, Fairfax Corner, Fair Lakes Shopping Center, etc. The weekend manager Vanessa took special care of us during check-in to make sure we were able to get into our room early.

Overall, it was a good stay. I chose this hotel due to its proximity to a location I intended to visit the next morning. The room was clean and comfortable. Despite the hotel being very full with construction crews, it was quiet when I checked in, and I was not disturbed in the morning. There was no breakfast served, but there were several restaurants in the vicinity. The staff were friendly and efficient.

Candlewood suites offers a nice place to stay for several days. We appreciated the kitchen set up, the microwave, popcorn, the ice machine that worked, and dishes stocked. We liked the little store and also the ability to “check out” other small appliances and games.

Check in was slow- about a 30 min wait. The front desk host was great, but she was also handling cleaning and custodial issues and it took a long time to get through everyone checking in. The bed was comfortable. Strong smells and no exhaust fan in the restroom. The price we paid was great, and the room worked for us for our one night stay, but not sure we would stay again unless the room rate was phenomenal.

Clean, Sufficient Stay

I booked Candlewood Suites at the last minute to visit my daughter in Fairfax. The suite was clean and offered a nice, full kitchen area. The bathroom was also updated and clean. The hallways and other shared indoor spaces were outdated and had a strong fragrant air. However, this didn't impact my room at all. The staff were helpful, but did seem understaffed. Overall, I would stay here again.

Good value for me. Liked that it was an extended stay type. Good to have a real fridge. The AC was set to 68 and the room was quite warm. But if I turned it down it did cool. They could fix the elevator button which was pushed in and flapping. The microwave light was out so check that stuff every once in a while. Overall good for me for a price.
