Secluded Mountain Cottage in Virginia Wine Country

  • Nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, this secluded mountain cottage offers the perfect balance of rustic charm and modern convenience. Set on seven private acres, the property is ideal for those who want to relax, recharge, and reconnect with nature while still being close to Charlottesville’s dining and wine country.

Step inside to find cozy living spaces designed for comfort, with streaming TV, board games, and high-speed WiFi to keep everyone entertained. A fully stocked kitchen and open dining area make it easy to gather for meals, while the wraparound decks invite you to enjoy morning coffee with mountain views or evenings watching the stars.

With Wintergreen Resort just 35 minutes away and dozens of wineries, breweries, and distilleries nearby, there’s no shortage of adventure. Spend your days hiking Fortune’s Cove, exploring Nelson County’s craft beverage trail, or visiting historic Charlottesville before returning to the peace of your private mountain hideaway.

Whether you’re planning a family vacation, a couples’ weekend, or a group retreat, the Appleberry Cottage offers an inviting, peaceful escape that feels both private and connected.

We love hosting reunions and small celebrations! For events, please book directly with Rock Spring Mountain Farm, as short-term rental platforms do not permit event reservations.

The cottage was beyond our expectations and we have stayed all over the world. We have even booked again for next year, which we have never done with a property but this place was perfect, relaxing, well equipped and our dog loved it too.We would highly recommend it!

This cabi is simply lovely. It's cleanly designed with elegant finishes but still feels cabinish. It's pristine and well laid out. If you have the chance, stay here!

Absolute picturesque property that looks like it came straight out of a fairytale. What you see in the photos is exactly what you see in person, and more importantly all the features actually work as shown. Attention to detail is evident in the layout, design, and functionality of the property; it doesn’t just look cozy, it seriously is cozy. For us, the pool was the main highlight of our stay, and was exactly what we needed to beat the summer heat and float our worries away. Despite being booked for every single day of the season, there was not a hint that another guest stayed before us. Well worth the money spent.
