Please kindly note that the cottage price is for up to 4 guests, additional guests are £50 per guest per night which will automatically be added onto your reservation when you go through the booking process. If you would like additional guests for some of your nights, but not all, we will be very happy to send you over a request for this separately to your booking.
The historic market town of Diss, which is approximately a 10 minute drive from the cottage, has coffee shops and restaurants to enjoy and a park, with a children's play area, overlooking the Mere. Eye and Framlingham, communities with castles, independent shops including a chocolatier and butchers are close by, as are picture postcard villages.
Thornham Walks, with 12 miles of woodland walks around an historic estate are within a few miles and there are many beautiful lanes and sites to explore by bicycle too.
The Suffolk coast including communities of Aldeburgh and Southwold, the Norfolk Broads, Ipswich with river cruises on offer, and the cathedral cities and towns of Norwich and Bury St Edmunds bustling with history and fine restaurants, are all easily accessible for day trips.
Getting around: Lavender Cottage is surrounded by fields and yet also within easy reach of the A140, A14 and hourly / half hourly intercity Norwich to Diss, Stowmarket, Ipswich, Manningtree, Colchester and London train line. The Norfolk Broads and seaside are all less than an hour’s drive away.
The village has it’s own taxi firm if you are arriving by train and is perfect for a self-catering holiday on the Suffolk / Norfolk border.

Great stay in a lovely cottage, fantastic yard and we were able to enjoy eating outside, the hot tub and sauna and then cozy evenings in the living area.
A really lovely chocolate box cottage in a quiet semi-rural position. Brilliant outdoor space with hot tub, sauna and outside gathering /eating areas. Very clean, very comfortable (suspect t would be even more so in winter with the log burner) and suited our needs perfectly. Oh, and the garden planting certainly reveals how the cottage got its' name
We have stayed in many cottages over the years and I can honestly say this is the best by far. The cottage is lovely and contains everything you could possibly need. The log fire made the cool evenings cosy. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was really well equipped. And the garden was my favourite place! Beautifully secluded and well set out. Loved laying out in the sun listening to the birds singing. The hot tub was large and lovely and hot. The suana was great and easy to use. The pictures on here really dont do the place justice. It is beautiful and we will come back.
I have to say we had a lovely weekend. The nice weather meant we could really take advantage of sitting in the garden. The hot tub and Sauna were put to good use. The lights above the hot tub made it really nice in the dark.
The house is lovely and is set in a very peaceful setting. The accessibility might not be great for those with mobility problems as you cannot park near the house and there is a gravel narrow path to the property. This is worth noting.
There is plenty of space and everything is very clean.
The welcome basket was very well received and the Prosecco
We left feeling very relaxed and refreshed.
