The Barrington Hotel

"Great location. Easy walk to the harbour and board walk with tons of restaurants and sights. Had an issue with our room booking on checkin, which the staff dealt with. I had booked an executive king suite but was placed in a regular king suite. They told me the room they gave me was the executive king suite. Rooms choices you book online do not appear to be the same as the rooms they have. We switched to a different room and it was resolved. Rooms are not cleaned everyday so we had to ask for towels and toilet paper each day."

"This is my second time staying at this hotel. For convenience it is in an excellent location. Rooms are clean, staff are all very friendly, paid parking on site. Coffee shop on site, bonus! For the price you do not feel like there is anything extra, other than convenient location to explore the harbour front. My only suggestion would be for staff to be more informed about the area. As travellers asking for suggestions or help I didn’t feel like they knew the area."

"Here’s a polished review you could post: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We absolutely loved our stay at Moxy Downtown Halifax! From the moment we walked in, the vibe was unlike any hotel we’ve stayed at. It’s modern, fun, and has so much personality. The lobby is such a great space to hang out, with Jenga, Pac-Man, and other games that make it feel more like a social lounge than just a hotel. You even get a complimentary welcome drink when you check in, which is such a nice touch. We also took advantage of happy hour at the bar, where cocktails were half price, and the food was perfect for an afternoon snack or a late-night bite. The rooms were spotless, modern, spacious enough for four people, and had everything we needed. One of our favourite features was the self-serve communal closet stocked with extra towels, pillows, toiletries, steamers, and other essentials. If you need anything else, the staff are more than happy to help. The complimentary extras throughout the day really made our stay stand out. There was fresh trail mix available in the afternoon, lemonade and fruit punch to help yourself to, and complimentary tea and coffee every morning. The location is also fantastic—just a short, enjoyable walk to the waterfront, with plenty to see along the way. Every little detail has been thoughtfully designed, from the stylish décor to the fun elevator experience. Everything feels intentional, modern, and incredibly well put together. "I booked this last minute because of a flight delay and it was such an incredible win. I wish I had booked my entire stay here. The property is beautiful. The sign in directions were easy. The fridge was stocked with everything you could possibly want. There wasn’t any staff there when I was there, but everything was so well laid out that you didn’t need any help with anything. The bed was comfortable. This was an excellent experience."
