Room was small but comfortable. Main issue was the tub/shower combo. The tub was actually a jacuzzi, with sides higher than a regular bathtub. For someone with bad knees, it made getting into and out of quite difficult and precarious.
Loved the property! The room was very comfortable! The only problem was the tv. It kept losing signal & there were no maintenance personnel at night to fix it.
It is very old as expected. Quirky bathroom layout and small room. It was a bit loud at night as our room was by elevator. Not as clean as we like.
Balcony restaurant was nice for food service. Separate balcony area for beverages only. Had to purchase inside and bring them outside yourself.
Parking is offsite. Shuttle service was good. Traffic is congested as streets are extremely narrow. Walkable area.
The pictures look better than the reality of the hotel. The location was great, lots of stuff to do within walking distance. The staff was nice and accommodating but the rooms picked up a lot of outside noise. Additionally, I would advise against using the hot tub because it gave everyone in my family (including my two children) full body rashes that have yet to clear up. After experiencing it, I did a deep dive in reviews and confirmed several others had reported the same problem which is very gross and unsettling.
Great location, excellent for walking around. Hotel had amazing amenities with wonderful guest events each day! The restaurant was very good with cheap drink specials. Loved the hotel itself and the town has such a rich and interesting history. Very cool place!
The staff was so kind and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. The Basin had a lot of great amenities and was walking distance to many shops and restaurants. Plan on staying again in the future.
Hotel is DATED, like 1906 type of dated (morden, but retro-style plumbing) which makes it perfect for a romantic getaway. The restaurant and bar were great and the other hotel staff were very accommodating. We stayed on New Year's eve and it was so fun. The party was inside and right outside the doors. Can't wait to stay again.
Amazing stay here, would recommend this place for everyone! Loved the uniqueness and the atmosphere and amenities. The game room was also, house keeping keeps the place spotless. And staff was amazing with any help we needed.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Went above and beyond to make our visit fun. The activities they offer are great. The whole area is fantastic. We will be visiting again. 10 out of 10

Disliked: Amenities
Check-in went smoothly and the staff at the front desk was friendly. One thing to note is that the floors are a little squeaky, so you may hear them during the night.
There was no toothpaste in the room, so I called the front desk to ask if they had any and if someone could bring it up. I was told I could come down and pick it up instead, which wasn’t a big deal but would have been nice as a room delivery.
Other than that, the hotel has a great location, free parking with a shuttle, and a really cool vibe overall. One other small thing — the toilet is very close to the shower, so space in the bathroom is a bit tight. If you’re on the larger side, it might feel a little cramped.
Overall, still a good stay.
Staff was very nice. They were extremely helpful. Loved the historical hotel. The room was very clean and we had a wonderful view. Absolutely loved the whole experience! Definitely planning on more stays in the futures

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
All of the staff were very friendly; from the lobby, shuttle driver, restaurant and bar. So much history and nostalgia in this hotel. Loved everything about it -- if you are looking for modern, traditional rooms this may not be your place. Rooms are smaller and set up based on size and architecture . We loved it!

Location, location, location! Great staff, good room on 4th floor with no one above us. Free parking at an off site lot; there is a shuttle. We love the historic status of the Basin. Free coffee in the lobby in the a.m. Could live without the added resort fee.
