We went to Esterillos Este. We were dubious about the parking, then a kind elderly women allowed us to park in her yard. Beauiful, empty, and warmest ocean water I’ve ever experienced, including the Caribbean.

We went early in the morning for a nice quiet walk down the beach which was so relaxing. We even ate lunch at Barresta Las Gemelas which you have to get the "Typical Costarican" where we got Mahi Mahi as the fresh catch of the day and all the typical Costa Rica sides all with a view of the beach and half the price of the touristy restaurants on the corner.

Surfing lessons were unavailable on the day we were there. Fortunately there was a small stand on the beach at the neighboring hotel. Surf lessons with Alfredo. My three kids each had their own experienced instructor. They were great!
