"Stopped for two nights with my husband on a motorbike trip to the Picos. We loved staying here. We had a beautiful balcony view looking out on to farm land and mountains and could hear the birds singing. So tranquil. Loved all the geranium window boxes. So pretty. Staff were very friendly and we got by with speaking English and a little Spanish! The accommodation was very clean and the beds very comfortable. We could have parked the bike in the garage as pre arranged but felt it was safe to leave the bike at the front of the hotel. Breakfast was delicious, not a cooked breakfast , apart from fried eggs and pancakes on one day but plenty of choice and delicious. The restaurant for an evening meal was in a separate building up a hill on the other side of the road. It was only open 1 of the two nights we were there but the quality of the food was excellent and generous portions. The hotel was a perfect position for exploring the Picos and we preferred the more tranquil spot rather than stopping in Potes. Found it a bit tricky to find the entrance to the hotel at first. Think cars had to park on roadside but we could park the bikes in front of the property which was excellent. Wish we'd booked another night. Would I stay again...Yes, definitely. Sad to leave ."

"What a phenomenal location! Beautiful hotel at the foot of the Picos de Europa, steps from the cable cars! Clean, quiet, charming, family friendly. Worth the drive to get here, next time we will stay longer! "

"Beautiful setting in a limestone gorge with a river flowing through it. Better than a white noise machine! There are hiking and mountaineering trails in the immediate vicinity. As a vegan, I appreciated that they included both a vegan and vegetarian option on the dinner menu. The thermal pools and the baths (balneario) were lovely. Don’t forget your bathing cap! "

"This is a great option if you are in town for hiking, especially if you don't speak Spanish. The guy who works the front desk is super personable and will help with hiking routes, restaurants, whatever you need, and he is also a wonderful host - very friendly, very charismatic. The view from our windows of the mountains was outstanding. You will have to shut the curtains ok n the afternoon to keep the heat out, but you won't be there anyway. You'll be hiking or eating or visiting a cheese cave."

"Beautiful place in the mountains with the kind of warm, welcoming, and personal attention one used to get in the old days but is now so absent from the modern hotel machinery. We adored the place and the owners and cannot recommend it highly enough!"

"Great location with plenty of bars, shops and restaurants in walking distance, and only a short drive to the Cares Gorge trailhead. Toilet needs a deep clean, it was superficially clean but there was a strong smell of urine present. Breakfast was good, and the staff serving were friendly and efficient……but you have to book a half hour slot….and that’s your lot! No chance of a slow relaxing morning coffee."
