The one downside was when we upgraded to Crown service & I would say it really was not worth it … the difference in service between normal and crown service was incredibly minimal for such a big price difference.. that I would not recommend. "I like the hotel and so do my sons this is the second time we’ve stayed there and it’s great. The hotel is great, has lots of facilities and the staff try to attend to everyone as best they can. It just doesn’t feel quite as luxurious as it should for the price. Dirty or not enough glasses for serving drinks, lunch/dinner food can get a bit bland and boring. But there are choices and that makes up for it, and also understandable when catering for a wide and varied customer base. The pools are great although it’s a fight for loungers in the morning. Service at the pools and bars could be better but the staff work very hard so can’t complain too much. It might be different as a couple or adults only, and like I say it’s good just not great or excellent."

"Great location, staff were amazing. I took ill and required a doctor, which they swiftly arranged, They then arranged a taxi to take me hospital. During my stay in hospital the staff were very attentive and looked after my sister who was left alone in the hotel. Rooms were spotless with great amenities and a lovely balcony with loungers that I used instead of going to the pool when I was discharged so that I could use the facilities in the apartment. I would definitely return and recommend this hotel. The only downside is lots of steps, if you are infirm this could be an issue. Thank you again to all the wonderful staff."

"Venue is wonderful and beautiful. However, for a 5* hotel and the brand The Ritz-Carlton, it could certainly do with some improvements. 1) Pool cleanliness: the pool is very filthy. We stayed for a week ar Tivoli before coming to the Ritz. The Tivoli Hotel pool is meticulously clean. The Ritz seems to not clean their pool regularly. Very disappointing for a 5* hotel. 2) TXOKO poolside restaurant: poor quality food at horrendous prices. Dry meat, pasta with no taste, croquettes for €6 that are less than a bite. Compare this to Tivoli Hotel restaurants by Chef Olivier where they serve real tasty food. TXOKO gets 4/10 from me. 3) Breakfast: options not great, food not great quality, and staff are overworked and stressed. We were served pre-cooked cold fried eggs, and bad coffee in half filled cups from the machine. I wonder who inspected their 5* rating. 4) Lobby smells of diapers and not a great experience to be in. Most luxury hotels smell luxurious and wonderful, you would want to be in the lobby. 5) Check-in vs Check-out: totally different treatment by staff during check-in vs check-out. Both at restaurants (TXOKO) and with the bag storage in the lobby. It’s as if they know you’re about to leave so they treat you differently. Apart from the above, I think this place could be wonderful if they improved these points. Would rate this place 4.5/5* until they work on the above points."
