This home is nestled in the serene Neck subdivision on Edisto Island, moments from the Edisto County Park, Live Oak boat landing and only 6.8 miles to Edisto Beach.This retreat boasts unrivaled comfort and sophistication, offering a pristine pool oasis with screened-in outdoor kitchen for entertaining, There is a convenient elevator and ground-level bedroom/bathroom/living space adjacent to the pool, Pet-friendly with a fenced in yard.

The size of the house is great for a large family and the location is serene and pleasant. Unfortunately for us when we arrived the property was not fully cleaned. The pool was growing algae and the outside garbage can was overflowing with garbage. The downstairs freezer had grass and bugs frozen in it. Two propane tanks were left on and no fire extinguisher is on the property. When the host was contacted they were not very responsive. Eventually someone arrived and loaded the pool with chemicals. We were able to swim the last days of our trip so we could see how nice it could have been. VRBO support was absolutely no help at all.

Stowe Away has the potential to be a wonderful vacation rental, but our experience fell short. The amenities sounded great but didn’t quite deliver. Upon arrival, the garage had debris, unopened twisted tea alcohol drinks were left on the staircase, and the dryer was full of standing water. The pool filter didn’t seem to work, the downstairs bed had no box spring (we slept in a “taco” mattress for four nights), and several outdoor lights and fans weren’t functional. While we still made memories with our group, the house itself was disappointing compared to how it appeared online.Communication with the host was also frustrating. We had to repeatedly ask for check-in details, and handling of fees was disorganized. Our deposit wasn’t refunded until weeks later, after much back and forth, and we were charged unexplained fees multiple times. The pet policy was unclear as well—though we confirmed in advance that pets were welcome, we weren’t informed of an additional fee until after check-in.Overall, we enjoyed our time together because of the company we were with, but the house and host experience left a lot to be desired.

Great family vacation

Stowaway was absolutely wonderful! The house is beautiful, the swimming pool is perfect, the kitchen is nicely equipped, each bedroom is separated perfectly, great for large families. Location is wonderful, just a short drive to the beach and the local restaurants were close by and they were spot on. Hope to return someday for another family vacation!
