"The front desk clerk was disorganized when I checked in. What normally takes only a few seconds to find my reservation and then complete the room assignment took about 5 minutes. When I tried my newly issued key card, it did not work. I had to return (from the 4th floor, with only one elevator working) to have my key card correctly activated. Approximately 30 minutes later a man entered our door. He also had been assigned to the same room as we were! He returned to the desk to get a correct room assignment. Later I left the room, and the key card again did not work when I tried to reenter the room. Again I had to return to the front desk to have the card activated! The night manager was there and quickly reactivated the card. She was very pleasant and apologetic. Afterwards she came by the room to check on us. As noted earlier, one of the two elevators was out service the entire stay. Otherwise the stay went well, the staff was very pleasant, and the breakfast buffet was fresh and tasty."

"AD1 properties, y'all need to spend some MONEY! Staff was MORE than helpful, but the rooms, these definitely need upgrades. Warm cookies won't cut it anymore. After a 12 hour drive, my husband and I just wanted to decompress, shower and sleep. The small refrigerator was leaking so the carpet was completely wet. Had requested a King bed, which this was but transferred to a double. No complaints there, but the ac was blowing heat at 86 degrees on a HOT, N. Carolina night. Ugh...maintenance came rather quickly, but it took a few minutes to remedy the issue, so essentially another hour of changing rooms and waiting. While Hilton is just the "brand", I expect better from property management. This would deter me from using a DoubleTree again. Thank you to the front desk lady who compensated us with breakfast and to the maintenance man for his patience with us and worked until we were comfortable. You're absolute KEEPERS!"

"I truly do not like to leave poor reviews, but there are some things that really bothered me about this rental. I would like to know how it has a 9.6 average review rating! That’s why I chose it. It’s more like a 7 (at best). Upon first walking in, the house looked and smelled clean, but that perception quickly changed! There are several rugs throughout the house that were filthy. You could write your name in the dust on a piece of furniture in the bedroom. I am highly allergic to dust, so I notice these things. The beds were comfortable enough. A big problem was the hot water or the lack of! At times, there was no hot water (kitchen and bathroom), and we let it run quite a while thinking it’d warm up. It didn’t. There were not enough towels and wash cloths, and there was one hand towel. Safety was an issue. The TV was placed on a mantel in which it did not fit and was not anchored to the wall. It could have toppled off the mantel so easily. My two small grandchildren visited us while we were there, and my husband set the TV in the floor we were so concerned about them getting hurt. There was a broken mirror in one of the bedrooms. The gap between the outside door and the floor was wide enough I think a snake could crawl in! I do not want to sound so nitpicky, but for over 400 for two nights, I expected more. A positive was that the owner was very quick to respond to messages. The neighborhood seemed safe enough; although I did hear gunshots at 2:00 A.M. the first night. "

"Do not book this hotel.(motel) Requested smoke free- it was not. Cigarette hole in sheet. MJ smoke in the air from outside or adjoining room. Thin walls so heard all conversation qqq"
