"Great location on a quiet stretch of the seafront. Staff were very helpful and attentive, and offered a nice range of breakfast options. Room was clean and well designed on the second floor with views of the south downs."

"Friendly staff, good breakfast. The extra bed was extremely uncomfortable; they promised a thicker mattress but never provided one. No air conditioning."

"Fabulous room, spotless and very comfortable. Host was welcoming and friendly. Only down, shower was very lack lustre, plus WiFi, but no Internet. Would definitely return, interesting information provided, nice touch of fresh flowers. Easy to find, free on street parking."

"Very pleasant Pub style B&B. Only stayed one night, but had a great night's sleep. Staff were friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast was complimentary, but I paid extra for a Full English, which was excellent"

"Great stay for 3 nights. Helpful staff, great breakfast and very clean. Could do with some modernisation in some areas (ie bedrooms) but other than that, great."

"A very lovely B&B with great location, beautiful room, wonderful hosting from Karen and team and best breakfast I've had in years. Over three days, the breakfast was perfect. The bed too is probably the most comfortable bed i can remember ever
The Host gives great, heartfelt advice which is super helpful."

"The room was a very generous size for a twin room. It was neat and tidy. The beds were fine, comfortable and nice size. The bathroom was also a very generous size. The shower wasn’t great (on the fourth floor - maybe not great pressure). Nice the easiest to wash hair but not too much of an issue with just a two night stay. Room entry was a physical key, which unfortunately kept getting stuck in the lock. The furniture in the room was very nice and quite spacious and in good condition. The furniture in one of the lounge areas was not so good with cracked leather and one with a throw on to cover the damage. It didn’t bother us but I can see that some people may not be happy with that. The atmosphere was relaxed. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly, giving lots of information. The bar staff were also very helpful and friendly. The restaurant was lovely. We ate from the restaurant menu (3 courses for a set price) both nights. The food was amazing, we were very impressed. The waiting staff were great and the speed of service was very good. It was our first stay at the hotel but agree that we would be happy to stay again - preferably when the large lift is fixed. There was only a small lift working but realistically you can only get two people in without suitcases."
"It's a grand old building - and some of the public areas downstairs are nicely done, and look great. Big and spacious reception/foyer and bar area as well (Didn't use the restaurant). The room was a good size, and a decent price - but as wih many of these big, old properties, it's worn & tired. It was cleaned well, and plenty of space."
"The hotel is in a great position with friendly staff, very helpful people.
The food is very good and competitively priced for the location.
I stayed in a single room with seaview, room was clean, with TV, kettle, coffees etc.
I have stayed here a few times and will be back."
"The staff were very helpful and friendly and the room was very spacious and there was parking attached to the hotel, which was helpful to have on site, thanks"
"Very pleasent stay. Just one night but room was very clean and comfortable. Receptionist was so helpful. No carpark attached to hotel but you can buy a permit for cheap at reception and receptionist helped to sort this.
Good location, close to the pier. Walking distance to the center. Would definitely stay again."
