The property was great and the staff is friendly and go out of their way to make you stay one to remember. We will be back and would HIGHLY recommend staying here. Glen and Mary are the best and will take very good care of you. The breakfast that they provided was very tasty. I went diving and had to leave earlier than when breakfast started but they set me up with some food the night before. They go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. The property and rooms are very clean and neat. The rooms are very comfortable. We originally were just going to stay for 5 nights but due to some snow storms we had to fly out early and stayed for 7. They were very accommodating to get us in early. It was a sad day leaving. Donna and Tom from Boston….GO PATS!!!!!
Wonderful property and managed extremely well. The location is superb for those looking for a more secluded get away, but close enough to everything that you need when you need it. Highly recommend.
This is my second time here and it was just as great as my first! Mary was fantastic and attentive! The place was clean and close to everything we needed! Booking this place again and again!
This was exactly as described but somehow even more! The room was perfect - Glen and her team took such good care of us everyday asking if there was anything we needed. Breakfast was amazing - try the fab home made banana bread - but the French toast was sooo good!! Such a great location too!
The apartment was beautifully decorated and comfortable. The view of the ocean was gorgeous from the balcony where we had breakfast. The pool and gardens on the beach were clean, well maintained and quiet. Property management was helpful and friendly. It was paradise!
We stayed here to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. The Grand Cayman is an amazing place and this location made it perfect. We were looking for quiet and more private vacation. This was a perfect location. The pool and ocean kept us cool. The availability of the kayak and snorkeling gear was terrific for fun on the ocean. The staff were excellent in their attention to us and treated us like family. We will definitely be staying here again.
Our stay was amazing here, the views, the location to all the things we wanted to do, the people, everything about our vacation was amazing. We paddle boarded, we kayaked, we snorkeled right in front of the place but the best was about 200 yards at the pier. All the restaraunts around the place were amazing too. Glen was second to none bringing breakfast each day as we sipped coffee enjoying our view. Highly recommend.
We stayed in the Blue Iguana cottage and loved it! The property is beautiful and well maintained. Our bed was very comfortable. The place had everything you needed. The breakfast was delicious. Glen was wonderful! She has the best personality and just started our mornings out with a smile. We loved the quiet relaxation. We also loved the restaurant Tukka that was just a few minutes down the road. The food and service was great.
We absolutely loved our stay in the Blue Iguana room in The Cottages at East End Cayman … The room itself is immaculate, the bed is super comfortable and you will be set up for your morning coffee or tea while you await breakfast delivery on the lanai. The staff (Glenn and Vanessa were on site for our stay) are truly the nicest and most helpful you could possible wish for.
You should rent a car because this IS at the far (quiet! Not busy! Wonderful!) end of the island but that is far by island definitions, you can be pretty much anywhere in 30-40 minutes. Our longest drive was to Macabuca at the other end of Cayman, that took just under an hour and was well worth it. Close by you can walk to Mimi’s (and snorkel off the dock!), Davids and The Italian Kitchen. Tukka, Vivines and Eagle Rays are all within a 4-7 minute drive and I am sure there are more that we didn’t explore. Every single thing at every restaurant was wonderful!
Swimming and snorkeling right out front is available and although there isn’t coral reef right there you will see lots of little nursery spots with tiny reef fish, squirrel fish in holes, we saw HUGE lobsters and a spotted eel hiding under a rock and watched a giant ray going about his business. For a full on reef snorkel drive 20-30 minutes to Spotts beach and swim out towards the buoys. Amazing.
We are already planning our return trip the Cayman and The Cottages!!!
This is the kind of rare review that my selfish self begs me not to write for fear this uncrowded gem gets over run… The Cottages really are the perfect mix of island luxury and hospitality.
We stayed in Room 10, a second story direct view of the ocean. Seemed to us to be the best option as a couple! Ours was a king bed but the property does have rooms with double beds. Our room was spacious with a small kitchen and mini-fridge. The bathroom / walk-in shower was updated and perfect. The water pressure was ok but the temp fluctuated (typical in the islands).
Hostesses Glen and Vanessa were exceptional. They delivered hot or cold (your choice) breakfast each morning and attended to our every need. We found everything to be very clean. These two have mastered the art of personal service and they made our visit so much more special.
The pool was just right for us with plenty of lounge areas for all guests. The size lends itself to strike up easy convos (and friendships) with guests open to chatting. The oceanfront here is sand and rock so water socks make it easier to navigate. The water can be a bit rough but we managed to snorkel, kayak, and paddle board easily. The property has snorkeling masks and life jackets, a two person kayak, and a paddle board They are first come first serve but we never waited long.
Few additional notes - - In our opinion, a car is a must to get around this part of the island. Be sure to set your alarm for sunrises!
Highly, highly recommend this lovely spot on the East End on Grand Cayman!
