"Don't bother. Told on arrival the kids swim times are 8-10am and 3-5pm. That was never mentioned during booking... it's made worse by the fact every family then turns up so you can't actually swim. Oh and they don't even have towels to use (because it's busy). Lodge was really dirty including chewing gum on pillow and the food is worse than school dinners (went elsewhere after one meal... nearby pub called Blue Lion is amazing). The worst part is following a complaint we'd made with a list...

"Highly recommended. Great location in the city centre, friendly and helpful staff, clean and modern rooms. Especially appreciated the small kitchen area (that had a fridge, microwave, nespresso, sink, cutlery, kettle, cups and plates). The beds were comfortable (and came with ample pillows!), spacious bathroom with Molten Brown toiletries, bath/shower and lots of towels. The room had everything we needed. The building itself was lovely and also felt safe and secure with access only via key cards. The hotel was a short walk from cafes, restaurants and shops, around a 5-10 minute walk to the docks, and a 5 minute walk from Lime Street station. Also appreciated our luggage being stored before check in and after we had checked out. Would definitely stay here again."

"We booked a superior twin room with a sea view and were not disappointed. The room was well presented, with a kettle and coffee machine, good sized wall mounted TV, excellent sea view, good sized beds, spacious bathroom and shower. it also has plenty of storage space, a fan, hair drier and iron. Breakfast was included in our package and was excellent, all you can eat options, including fresh fruit, cereals, yogurts, bakery options, juices and of course the cooked breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausages, beans and hash browns. When we were staying there was also 2 full coaches booked in but this did not affect the breakfast servings at all. Overall we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay."

"This is a lovely historic hotel, centrally located. From the very beginning the staff was right there to make us feel welcome and cared for. It was easy to find your way in the hotel and the room was spacious, clean, beautiful and comfortable. There were thoughtful extras too. The bar and breakfast very good and a comfortable and elegant atmosphere. I would love to stay again!"

"We enjoyed our stay but I thought the rooms should have complimentary waters Due to the fact it was an expensive place to stay Also the parking near the actual rooms was hit and miss on availability and the top car parks are really tight. All this said we enjoyed the room and our few days away with our family."
