Beautiful view of the river from a cozy deck. Cabin was well equipped with anything you need to prepare meals. Comfy bed. Nice property with a short drive to Durango.

Not as expected but still nice

Overall, I would give this place a 4 star rating. We booked it for our honeymoon to have privacy and peace. The cabin was beautiful and the creek was pleasantly close. We were unaware that it was part of someone else's property and that people would be on the property every single day we were there. Even after reaching out to the rental agency, people were in our rented space including the yard space next to the cabin and on the deck of the cabin. The internet was poor but not the renter's fault.We were dissappointed that we could not fish in the creek due to it being someone else's private property and that was not made clear until after booking the rental. These were our only issues. Otherwise, it was a very nice place to get away for a week.

Wonderful setting & surroundings, with a very nice cottage attached.

We enjoyed this cottage & the property so much! This was just what we were looking for,& just “as advertised “. The Cottage itself was not a “plush” house, or a resort-like space, but it did have very nice accommodations. Really a very cozy & comfortable space, with wonderful surroundings…from the large deck, mountains visible all around, the great flowing creek located just below the outer area of the deck,& a beautiful lake across from that area, on the adjacent property. Really well cared for grounds around the cottage as well. It was not only a relaxing house, but also peaceful & quiet all the while. We enjoyed it,& would recommend it to anyone. Mike & Margaret (& Poko🐕 too!)

Fall stay

This is our second time to stay at the Cottage on the Creek and it is perfect for a quiet relaxed stay in the Durango. After a day in Durango we love to enjoy a late afternoon on the deck with a drink and a good book.

Durango stay

This is the most relaxing location for a vacation. We loved exploring the area during the day and then relaxing on the patio each afternoon. The sound of the creek was wonderful.

We loved our time at Cottage on the Creek! A cozy, clean, updated little house in an idyllic setting. So restful and lovely, it was hard to head out each day to see the sights. (But we did, because Durango area is great!) Wish we lived close enough to book time here a couple times a year.

We loved our stay. However: a six inch paper sign at the road not facing the right direction is not helpful. A number by the drive needs to be posted! We drove back and forth searching Must haves - A knife that will cut fruit, meat or chicken A can opener that works

Relaxing Cottage

Our stay was completely enjoyable and relaxing. We enjoyed the back deck overlooking the creek every morning with coffee and every evening with a glass of wine. Everything was comfortable and very clean. It was about a 20-25 minute drive into Durango but worth it for all the quiet and beauty. So many activities in the area to enjoy.

The cottage is as described in the VRBO listing. The view from the deck is great. The cottage is comfortable. We met the owner Clark who lives next door when he was gardening and he is terrific and accommodating. There are grassy areas for your dog. Five stars and highly recommended except for the management company. I could give several examples, but just three so this doesn't get too long: 1) I called and asked if we could get into the cottage half an hour early (at 3:30) if empty and was told yes, it was ready, but the charge to get in early (even less than half an hour) was $50. 2) The management company requires renters to sign an extremely one-sided contract (in addition to VRBO's rules) long after the reservation when it is inconvenient to change plans. 3) The email with check-out instructions said to set the AC to 58 degrees - we were there in late July. I could go on.

Gorgeous, peaceful setting

I have vacationed many times in Colorado and this was by far the best vacation ever! The cottage was perfect for two people. It was clean and had everything we needed. It is located in a secluded, beautiful area, but close enough to enjoy surrounding activities in Durango, Silverton, and Ouray. I would highly recommend this cottage if you are looking for a peaceful getaway.

An isolated place to stay

The place was isolated and away by itself, which I liked. Travel to and from the city was no problem. Place was clean but I would say a little dated. There were several times we could not enter the property with out getting wet due to the sprinkler system, but we didn't melt. I kept wishing that I had a blower to clean off the back deck with the debris coming from the near by trees. All in all it was as advertised and a comfortable stay.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

Cute cabin that is the perfect weekend getaway location. Close enough to Durango in case you need to get any food or eat out but remote enough to where you are just hearing the creek and the birds. Cabin has everything you need, including a wonderful deck to sit and enjoy a beverage and take in the nature. Check in process was a breeze and only ding would be finding it can be a little tough and directions could be a little clearer on finding it. But we will be back

Great place!

It seems like the owner has put alot of work into the property - roof, landscaping, etc. I especially like some of the other things like the lights on the stairs, king bed, upscale cookware, grill, washer/dryer. Good layout of the interior. We'll be back!
