"Clean room and nice staff"

"I will not say we had a bad time. The room was pretty cheap, and we got what we paid for. Maybe it was my mistake for thinking a property owned by Ceaser's Palace might have a similar glow. We arrived an hour before check in totally fine to wait if the room was not ready. The teenager ( I'm not biased, this person just lacked that welcoming vibe) at the desk told us there would be a fee to check in early. Screw that, right?! My wife and i kept busy until check in, got our keys and made our way down the dark, dinghy hallways to our room and wow! Just wow. The heat drove me backwards when i opened the door. I made my way past the alarm clock blinking 12 with no buttons to fix it. I stepped over the beer can that housekeeping missed and got to the thermostate to see it was set to cold. Calling downstairs, they informed me that because it had snowed that day the heat kicked on. Apparently once the heat kicks on it takes 2 days to turn off. I don't blame you if you read that last sentence twice. Now, its off season, the casino wasn't busy and it was a Wednesday night. I asked if i could be moved to another room. My Ceaser's resort front desk agent said no, suggested i open the window and offered me one of those crappy white box fans. My options were to scream at a teenager, or enjoy my stay. Btw, its a casino hotel. Those windows dont open more than a couple inches."

"The room was as basic as it gets. There was no in-room coffee or tea. Coffee was served out of a big cylindrical coffee maker in the lobby. No morning breakfast. The website said they had memory foam mattresses but my room was a spring mattress…..and this is really weird, the spring bed mattress was turned upside down so that you would be laying on the unpadded bottom. Why would they do that? The room was also just marginally clean. The best things about the room was the off-season price and the proximity to Arapahoe Basin ski area."

"First time I stayed at this hotel and I was surprised at how well it was maintained. I visit Blackhawk/ central city once or twice a month and I usually stay in the Blackhawk part. I decided to try the century for a change and I am glad I did. The staff was awesome and my room was shocking I must say. It was extremely clean and well furnished. I had high ceilings with windows that went almost floor to ceiling and over looked one of the main streets. Very historic feel in a great way. It is well preserved which is one of the reasons it is now one of my top choices for the area. I am disabled with limited mobility and if I would have had to navigate this alone it might have been a bit of a challenge but I asked at the desk for a bellmans cart to help bring in my bag and they insisted that a staff member assist me which was very much appreciated. I did not spend much time in the casino on this visit as I was meeting friends at another location the casino was also clean and had the same historic feel in a good way. I really can not find anything negative to say about this property. The owners, management and staff obviously care a lot about this property and it shows."
