Excellent in all respects. A family run business that makes you feel welcome. A deceptively large hotel considering the picture of the front. It is made up of a number of Georgian town houses and has lovely period style furniture in the common areas.
There is a bar and restaurant on site (bar open late!) They have live music and Irish dancing on Friday and Saturday nights which was very enjoyable and the busy area of residence had a great sing song, a nice way to round off the evening.
If, like us you were attending a gig at Croke Park, it is 10-15 mins walk. For shopping, 5 minutes walk to the main areas and another 5 gets you to the river.
Rooms were clean and tidy, hairdryers supplied and daily cleaning.
Special mention to Jonathon who checked us in, good tips on where to eat etc and a pleasant dry sense of humour that I am sure some will not catch!
10/10 if we return to Dublin, we would actively seek this hotel out and only stay anywhere else if this one was fully booked!
I have seen a few comments about this not being suitable for people with mobility issues, but saw a number of people doing just fine. There are a couple of small slopes in hallways and a number of stairs, but there are 2 lifts also and the slopes are very gentle and short, so do not be put off!
We do alot of city breaks and if all properties were like this I would be happy.
PS - Great breakfast included, either hot or continental, or as asome people did....BOTH!
