If you like quiet and secluded this is the place for you. The house is well appointed with all that you need for a relaxing time in the wilds of PA. The house is clean and comfortable, and the hosts are very helpful.

The cabin was awesome and we enjoyed our stay. I am glad I had a SUV for the 4 miles ride to the cabin. Just suggestions for the elderly. Safety bars in both showers would be a plus. My mom (85) and Aunt (88) both had problems getting in and out of the shower. Nothing to hold on to. The master shower could use some type of 'non-skid" flooring and the rug outside of the shower moved when getting out of the shower. No backing. The hall bathroom shower does not drain well and standing in water. Other that that, we enjoy our stay.

1st time staying near Driftwood , and we loved the quiet up on the hill . Everything about the house was great . We grilled and cooked in and enjoyed the porch! Kids played in nearby creek . Had lots of turkeys visit and a few deer. Could hear elk bugle nearby.

We so enjoyed staying here. The condition, size, and layout of the cabin was great. If you want a place to relax, surrounded by nature, stay here! This is a fantastic cabin and a super host. We would love to stay here again, no doubt!

We had a wonderful time at Barr top. It was a remote location and that made it a peaceful stay. We saw wildlife every day there and enjoyed the clean and beautiful cabin . We plan on coming back again!

The house and property were beautiful. Just keep in mind that to get to it you have numerous miles of dirt and gravel roads that are not well maintained. Your vehicle will be extremely dirty if you drive much at all on them. Also gps does not work correctly and can get you lost on extremely bad roads.

Barr Top Lodge was the perfect place for our family of 7 to stay. The amenities were exactly what we needed for a relaxing weekend. The kids sure did enjoy the pool table. I was slightly disappointed with the cleanliness, but i know that can be difficult being in the woods.

Elk Shed Camp 2025

Marine Corps Brothers annual trip to Benezette in search of elk sheds. We spend hours in the woods and hiking to the meadows in the high country looking for sheds. Although this is our 5th year and again it was unsuccessful we have already booked next years trip. This is by far the BEST VRBO we have stay at in the area and look forward to doing it all over again next year!

Weekend getaway

We had a great weekend at the lodge. Saw lots of deer and Turkey around the area. We walked the Fred Woods Trail in the snow which was beautiful. Can’t wait to book it again for next year.

The place was very nice to stay at but in the middle of winter when temps are below freezing the temperature in the home was only in the 60's and would not get much warmer
