Great breakfast from pre dawn fitting in when most tours leave, and in a great balcony space. Super clean. Be aware when booking on Expedia for here the payment is not processed and the price quoted is for cash only otherwise it is 13 percent more. Just up the hill in main town so plenty of dining options.

Amazing host

The stay was amazing. The host was wonderful and helped us organize dinner reservations and tours. He was very helpful. The rooms were very clean along with the whole property. The breakfast was wonderful and he was very accommodating to our large group. There was a lot of wildlife we saw from the common area including many birds and monkeys. It was a wonderful place to stay.

We had a great stay at Cabinas Pura Vida. We appreciated the hospitality and reliability of our host, who picked us up at the beach and gave us helpful recommendations and instructions. Norlyn our host was extremely communative and helpful with our trip planing and on arrival. Norlyn helped us to arrange our airport transfer, Cano Island trip and water taxi out to Sierpe. He even gave us a lift down to the beach for these activities. Wonderful breakfasts, different everyday while watching colourful birds om the feeder and flying by. Special place, affordable, clean, safe and walking distance to restaurants and shops.

We really appreciated that Norlyn arranged a taxi to take us to and from the airport. When it worked in his schedule, he also drove us down to the beach to catch the boat for one of our excursions, though the walk from Las Cabinas to the beach wasn't far at all. The breakfast served was amazing and the dining area was great for looking out to watch the birds.

Great value and helpful host

Norlyn met us on the beach when our boat arrived and gave us a ride to his B&B. Comfortable and clean room. Common area has a shared refrigerator. On our second day we had an early departure for Corcovado and Norlyn served us an early breakfast and gave us a ride with our luggage. Great value!

Super warm welcome. Lovely terrace with nice green view; we chilled in the hammocks with a book. Kitchen available for those wanting to cook. Very clean and basic accommodation. Nice ambiance.

A good stay

My room was clean, but slightly musty smelling. The AC worked well and the bed was sufficiently comfortable that I had no trouble sleeping. Like many hotels in Costa Rica, the hot water was more like warm water, but given the air temperature, that’s not a huge deal. Breakfast was prompt and tasty. The staff was very accommodating and helpful.

Nicest people ever, they treat you like family

We loved this place. Kimberly at the reception desk is the sweetest most efficient person you can find. We were there with our two teenagers and we all loved the place. Very clean and cozy. They even offered to wash our clothes after they got stinky hiking in they rain. They did everything and more to help us. I got injured in the forest (sprained ankle) and Kimberly and the owners family were truly concerned and caring, they even offered a ride in Kimberly’s car to go to the doctor. They made breakfast ( delicious)super early to accommodate the time of our insanely early tours. I would recommend this place to everyone.

Terrible owner and property

We didn’t end up staying here because the owner said he “sent us a message” that he didn’t have room for us. We didn’t receive his so called message until we showed up at the property and he suddenly came up with the message and said it was our fault that we didn’t get it. He was incredibly condescending and rude. DONT STAY AT THIS PROPERTY!

Less than ideal

They had a nice breakfast. The room was as described. They did let us leave our vehicle parked there during our tour. Water is not potable. Although my reservation specifically had my children listed, they made me pay extra for them once we arrived. Definitely got ripped off, but what could I do since we were there?! It felt dishonest and I didn’t even get a receipt, the guy just pocketed my cash they insisted we pay with. I tried to email and communicate with the owner ahead of time about a need during our stay. Despite her kind email about reaching out should we need anything, she said she couldn’t respond and never replied further. Communication was poor even once we arrived.

Nous avons apprécié les services offerts par notre hôte notamment les transferts. Également le coin cuisine car les restaurants sont chers. J'aurais apprécié un jus de fruits du pays au petit déjeuner et un peu plus de variétés. Sinon tout était conforme au site sur internet.
