"While the Hotel Earl is a clean, modern, and perfectly located gem near downtown Charlevoix, my off-season stay was a mixed bag due to winter conditions and maintenance hurdles. The room was immaculate and the front desk staff was incredibly polite and accommodating, but the experience was dampened by an unplowed parking lot and the loss of major amenities, including a closed pool and hot tub due to a leak and an unattended lobby bar. Because I booked through a third-party vendor, no compensation could be offered for these missing features—and I even ended up paying for my full two-day reservation despite checking out a day early—but as I wasn't there on vacation, it was a manageable trade-off. I would certainly return during the peak season to experience the hotel at its full potential, especially to enjoy the rooftop bar overlooking the lake."

"I love this resort!!! The staff by the ski cage are so wonderful!!! They are always so warm and friendly!! Our room was great, and we were so lucky to get a beautiful blue bird day!! I was able to get all the lift tickets in the lobby which saved me a hike. The food was great at the main lodge for breakfast. We enjoyed Slopeside, and the pizza delivered to our room was a treat. We all loved the hot tub and pool! My kids were there for hours!! Great vibe all around!! This is our 2nd year staying at The Highlands. We will be back next year! "

"There were many positives for a stay at Bay View Inn. A charming independent inn was perfect for our ski weekend with easy access to the local ski venues and Petoskey for great dining options. We appreciated the filtered water for our water bottles along with hot chocolate after a day of skiing. Breakfast was great to start our day."
