Dogsleg Lake

The weekend was fantastic! Great staff, clean rooms and great beds! Only downside we saw was the elevator was out of order. However they did great to accommodate us and those needing help. We really liked our stay and look forward to coming back.

Unfortunately, this stay was disappointing. One of the biggest issues was the noise. The air conditioning unit was extremely loud, making it difficult to sleep, and the rooms have virtually no soundproofing from the suite next door if you’re in a “B” room. Every morning around 7:00 a.m., we were woken by children screaming and running in the “A” suite next door that shares a door with a “B” room. We were traveling with three family groups, yet our rooms were spread across opposite ends of the hotel, with no ability from staff to accommodate this issue. The rooms were also dark, poorly lit, and the kitchens lacked basic, usable utensils. The biggest letdown were the BBQs. The hotel only has electric BBQs, and they were so underpowered they could barely cook a hot dog. If you’re planning to prepare meals during your stay, don’t count on the BBQs, and plan not to have burgers or hot dogs for your kids. The pool area had far too few lounge chairs, and were full a half hour after the pool opens. The stained hallway carpets and overall condition make it clear the property is overdue for a major renovation. The boiler failed and we had to have cold showers for one night. This hotel is best suited for families with young children who don’t mind the noise and activity that comes with a family-focused resort. If you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway, I’d look elsewhere. We have been here many times before, but won’t be returning. Spend $$$ elsewhere.
