One of the vernal pools at Heckert Nature Preserve. Vernal pools are ephemeral wetlands that collect in the spring and usually dry up in the heat of the summer. Since they aren't full year round, they don't generally support fish. This benefits smaller amphibious creatures who can reproduce more successfully without the threat of fish predators.

「A total time-capsule perfectly kept! 「OMGOODNESS! Such a relaxing stay. So many on property activities that didnt drive for a whole 30 hours. Loveed the Creek and trails with the bird houses. Absolutely loved the hot tub and used the grill for burgers too! Everything was perfect after the loss of a patriarch in our family.
