"The pool area is quite narrow. To make things worse, smoking was allowed anywhere. It could also be no one was enforcing no smoking at the poolside. I was with my kids and we have to keep moving to different parts of the pool to avoid 2nd hand smokes."

"First impressions when we arrived was that the resort is very run down and in urgent need of proper renovations. There was black mold on shower curtains and cracked tiles in the bathrooms. Kitchen was not very clean, but we did not use it. Food selection in the breakfast buffet was quite limited. The pool water was not clean. The staff was very helpful and friendly, so no complaints. We expected more, compared to what you get for the same price other places in Asia, eg Thailand and Vietnam."

"The 3 best parts were; 1) its right next to a well tenanted mall and old food streets across the roads; directly connected to mall via lift on 8 floor(need to transfer) 2) rooms were relatively well maintained 3) breakfast has a very wide variety of food. Coffee machine has decent coffee"

"Montigo resort has a clean, quiet and serene environment. Nice place to relax and enjoy the many activities it offers for all ages. The staff are polite, patience and helpful. Staff service is tip top. We’ll definitely visit again after our first experience."

"A very clean and comfortable hotel with very friendly staff. However, the noise from the main road in front of the hotel intrudes into the rooms facing it. Especially the noisy motorcycles. Would definitely stay there again but I will ask for a room facing away from the road."

"The room was dirty and neglected, chair on veranda broke when I sat in it, doors did not close properly so mosquito and large red ants came in at night, bathroom had electricity plug next to shower so not safe to use, kitchen did not have utensils to cook a meal. Check in was 3 not 2 as on confirmation. Receptionists were dismissive and unhelpful, breakfast was of poor quality and lacking in choice, fresh coffee had to be paid for at breakfast it was not included as told at check in. The hot tub was filthy and unusable, the large swimming pool had exposed wires in it and the smaller one had chairs floating in it and was full of sand and debris.The resort in general was dirty, tired and had rubbish everywhere. Room service food was constantly over an hour late and stone cold when arrived. We ended up leaving a day early and would have left the day after arrival if I could have booked our next hotel earlier!!! "
