Property was clean and had several amenities (car seat, high chair) which we did not need, but are great for families with littles!Great location- close to wedding venue in East Village (1.5 miles away!)Host also has QR code with lots of additional info (places to go, restaurants, etc)

Nice, older home. The upstairs has a weird layout that wasn't really explained in the house description. Occupants from 2 of the bedrooms need to pass through 2 other sleeping area to go to the bathroom. It's awkward. The kitchen needs more supplies, ie addition sts of disware and silverware. There were 5 of us, and we barely had enough dishes for a meal. We actually bought additional coffee cups at Goodwill and donated them to the kitchen.The house is marketed to sleep 14, but there is only bed space for 10. Maybe the description needs to be updated?

Overall it was a great stay. Great communication with owner. Technically 5 rooms to stay in, though 2 rooms are walk thru. With family, no problem. 2 car Parking was tight but doable. Garbage men only took 1 bin. Great stay for a softball tournament. Many supplies were stocked. Maybe mile from downtown area. Would stay again

Group of adult siblings gathering for reunion. Property was very clean and beds were comfortable. Very convenient location for all that downtown Des Moines has to offer. We didn’t do much cooking, so can’t comment on kitchen. Upstairs setup for bedrooms worked for us, but if you are looking for complete privacy for couples this floor plan might be challenging for you. We didn’t utilize outdoor space due to heat. Definitely fit our purpose and needs.

The house was nice and in a great location. Easy to get everywhere we wanted to go whether downtown or over to Grays Lake.Had a great time!

Double Booked

Imagine our surprise when some gals arrived to decorate for their bridal party! The house was double booked. Because of this I requested the code be changed. It could not be done timely. Neighborhood was a little concerning. Old house that was nicely updated but steps were steep and too many steps.

Family reunion Iowa-style

There were 5 of us who came from out of town for a reunion. The home was clean and the beds VERY comfy. The host was very responsive which is always nice when staying at a rental home. We all even walked over to a Cubs baseball game one evening right from the home. Close to Downtown and and restaurants and farmer’s market. Very nice stay!

Christmas Getaway

This 6 night Christmas Getaway was perfect for our family. There was plenty of room for everyone and very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked for our needs. The home is close to the airport and shopping. The host is very accommodating for our needs and communication with her was awesome. Looking forward to coming back next year.

8 Days away from home.

Stayed here during the National Junior High Rodeo. The accommodations were top notch. I have stayed in other VBRO’s. This is one of the cleanest and quietest ones I’ve been in. Location is close to Fairgrounds. Hoping to be back next year.

Spacious place for a great value

My friends and I stayed here for an event, and we found it to be clean, spacious, and welcoming. I would definitely stay here again if it made sense logistically.

Good place for a large group.

Great stay. Really enjoyed the deck in the morning. Big enough for all of us to have room and not be on top of each other. Needed a few more kitchen towels and/or paper towels, but it was great place for our work trip.

Perfect for a family

Clean, updated property with cute decor. Comfy beds and plenty of room for a family. Our kids (and their parents!) enjoyed having the entire upstairs space to themselves. Would recommend!

A perfect short term rental

For anyone booking with the expectation of getting a hotel like experience…please book a hotel. Hotels are great if you need a place to lay your head for a night. But, please do not ruin short-term rentals for those of us who deeply appreciate homeowners sharing their vacation and rental homes with other families. L We’ve rented private homes since before booking sites were a thing, and many of our favorite homeowners have restricted offering their homes because of unrealistic expectations of guests. This property was perfect for our family to stay in while one of our kids competed at an event held at a hotel nearby. It was only 6 minutes from downtown and super conveniently located to everything we needed. The 4 bedrooms upstairs connect/walk through, so that area is best suited for kids/family and not couples seeking privacy, however, it was perfect for our 4 college/high schoolers to each have their own space/bed. The lower level bath was separate from the main floor bedroom which allowed it to be utilized by anyone. Everything was clean and well stocked. We stayed three nights and it still cost less than booking two hotel suites for only two nights where we wouldn’t have had the benefit of a full kitchen, free laundry, an outdoor space with fenced yard, or been allowed pets. This was a perfect solution for our family. Thank you for opening your home and allowing us to be your guests.

Sibling Reunion

Just what we needed to reunite 6 siblings. Plenty of room to eat, drink, play cards, and talk & talk. Beds were very comfortable. Even though it was an older home the two bathrooms provided plenty of hot water for everyone’s morning showers which renewed us along with a cup of coffee on the deck to repeat the eating, drinking, card playing and talking! The host Veena was very courteous and welcoming. Great stay - would do it again.

Awesome Stay

It was very easy to reach the property manager when need, and receive a quick response. The house was very spacious and had everything you might need. If we ever need to come to Iowa again we would definitely book here.
