Des Moines Entire home 3 Bdms King; Queen; Twins quiet near High Trestle Trail
Our charming Des Moines home in a quiet residential neighborhood located conveniently in the fast growing upscale area of Ankeny, is the perfect place for your stay. Nestled northwest of Des Moines adjacent to a historic and beautiful biking and walk trail. You will be within a short distance from a world class brewery, bars, restaurants and miles of walking and biking trails. We are within a few miles of everything else that Ankeny and the downtown area of Des Moines has to offer!
Other things to note The property is located one block from the High Trestle Trail, one of the most pristine and highly trafficked trails in Iowa—even at night. The trail’s popularity is largely due to its famous 130-foot-tall High Trestle Bridge, which boasts one of the most well-known rail-trail art installations in the country, From Here to There. Wrapped in 43 twisting, diamond-shaped steel ribs lined with LED lights, the bridge elicits the sensation of traveling down a mine shaft—a nod to the area’s coal-mining history.
In addition to its rich history, Ankeny is also known for its vibrant local art scene, with galleries and studios revealing the work of local artists.
Whether you're interested in history or the arts, Ankeny has something to offer everyone. Ankeny has a fascinating history that dates back to the late 1800s when it was founded as a railroad town.
AUGUST 10 - 20, 2023: The internationally acclaimed Iowa State Fair is the single largest event in the state of Iowa and one of the oldest and largest agricultural and industrial expositions in the country. Annually attracting more than a million people from all over the world, the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines is Iowa’s great celebration, a salute to the state’s best in agriculture, industry, entertainment and achievement.
The Iowa State Fair, the inspiration for the original novel “State Fair” by Iowan Phil Stong, three motion pictures and Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Broadway musical, is without a doubt the country’s most famous state fair.
National media frequently rank the Fair as one of the top events in the country. In 2004, USA Weekend named the event the #2 choice for summer fun in America, topping New York City’s Times Square, Cedar Point Amusement Park Resort in Ohio and Disneyland in California. Midwest Living magazine named the Fair one of the “Top 30 Things Every Midwesterner Should Experience.” The Fair is also included in the New York Times best-selling travel book 1000 Places to See Before You Die and the subsequent travel book, 1,000 Places to See in the U.S.A. and Canada Before you Die.

Excellent place to stay for a few days! We were in the area to visit a college. It was a perfect location. The neighborhood is quite and conveniently located. We had everything we needed for our stay. We would stay there again if we're back in the area.
The house was exactlybas we expected. The downstairs game space was so comfortable to relax and play games. The weather did not cooperate for us to enjoy the backyard, but we are sure others have. The hosts were very responsive to any and all my questions. Overall, I would highly recommend this space and these hosts.
The house was nice and cozy. Plenty of room for us and our service dog. Being handicapped we did not go down into the basement to enjoy the amenities down there so cannot comment on that area of the house. The owners communicated and answered our questions in a very timely manner. The location of the house was centered in an area that gave us access to great places to see and eat. We will definitely come back here on our next visit.
We felt very comfortable in this neighborhood, and the house had everything we needed at our fingertips. Check-in was simple and prompt; comfortable beds; lovely backyard. For visiting family in Ankeny, this gave us a perfect “home base”. We hope to find it available again next time!
Well supplied location. Overall very happy with everything. Owners should monitor upkeep on exterior though. Lawn un-mowed for what appeared more than 2 weeks. Garbage was left from several guests previous in proper dumpster’s but not moved to curb for disposal. Smell. Would stay again as it’s a great location.
The house is clean and cozy, in a safe neighborhood and close to trails. We stayed with our dog, the fenced yard is really nice. The home was clean and the beds comfortable. The property owners were easy to work with and very helpful. Definitely recommend. Thanks!
The place was perfect for us and our granddog. We had plenty of room and the enclosed back yard gave Molly a place to run and do her business off a leash.
The communication with the owner was prompt and clear.
We took advantage of being close to the high tratlr trail for a walk and enjoyed two local eateries.
My wife and I needed a place to stay with our dog while visiting our son in Ankeny. This house was absolutely perfect. Very clean and nicely furnished. Great internet and TVs. Nice big back yard for our puppy to run around and play in. The house is close to the High Tressel Trail and some nice large open parks to go run my dog. I would highly recommend.
This property was in a good location and quiet neighbor. Easy access to anything you would like to do in Ankeny or the area. Very comfortable and clean. Plenty of room and nice fenced in back yard. Has a nice family room with a large TV in the lower level. Has 1 1/2 bathrooms. Beds were comfortable. Will stay there again. Thank you to the host.
House was clean and well stocked. Directions were easy to follow and access the property. Host worked with us on some complications with our stay. I would definitely stay again.
Great location for access to bike trails. Fenced backyard was perfect for our dog. The house was just right for the two of us. King bed was comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed. The bonfire chairs in the backyard are nice.
The property is in a quiet neighborhood and close to shopping. There is a musty smell throughout the home for a person with bad allergies it’s a bit overwhelming. The bathroom is a tight fit for a person. Over all stay was good.

Weekend in Ankeny
It is a dated small home in a lower middle class suburban neighborhood. Outside landscaping and backyard need improvements starting with better lawn care. I will not be coming back to Ankeny,IA. Price and description lead me to believe it was much nicer than actuality
