Nice Place for Four

The neighborhood is safe and quiet and good for taking walks. To get to the beach, you do need to drive, however. The kitchen is very nice and the beds in the bedrooms are very comfortable. The fold-out sofa bed is impossible, so only four people can stay here comfortably.

Great little beach cottage

We stayed with our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids). Everything was great. The outdoor area was especially wonderful with the kiddos. The space is thoughtfully set up and met all our needs! Thank you so much!

Mom's Getaway

The cottage is a great getaway. We spent the weekend recovering from raising teenagers! It was very relaxing. The cottage is stocked with everything you may need. We enjoyed the backyard. The beds were comfortable. The location is great for walking. We walked to both the park and beach daily. We were also close to yummy restaurants and Trader Joe's. Thank you for an easy and relaxing stay.

Dana Point getaway

Overall a great stay! Clean house. There are alot of rules staying here but makes sense if yiud like to stay in a clean house. Being came on a weekend it was tough trying to not be too loud as we enjoyed family games (fun and laughter). Also please not, this is a 2 bedroom and not 3. The sofa bed is in the livingroom. Cutte little place, made use of the grill and hammock in the back. Again overall nice stay! Thank you!

Adorable, comfortable beach cottage

My kids and I had to best stay at this clean, well located, beach home with darling decor. We felt right at home. The kids rode scooters te scenic 1/2 mile to the beach. Very clean, plenty of room and patio to relax. Loved it!

Stay in Capistrano Beach Cottage 2

Great reservation process with excellent summary of critical info. Place was spotless and warm. My only issue was the narrow bathroom doorway. In my power wheelchair I could not get into the bathroom. I informed the property manager (Jason) who instantly took care of us by getting us moved to the larger unit, which we will review separately. I suggested to Jason that the property listing be changed to say “manual wheelchair accessible” instead of “wheelchair accessible”; or just disclose the internal door widths so wheelchair users can plan ahead. All in all, this is a terrific property.

Great spot overall

We really enjoyed the cottage- it was very clean and is well laid out and nicely remodeled (very cute and homey). The kitchen is open and airy so perfect for a small group. The unit is the rear rental of a 2-unit building in a very nice, quiet neighborhood. The only thing that I didn't like was that the air conditioning won't go below 72 - I didn't sleep very well since I like it cooler. I understand not wanting people to crank it down and leave, but would recommend putting in a smart thermometer that adjusts up during the day or something along those lines. So personally I wouldn't stay again during summer/fall but for those who don't mind warmer temps at night it wouldn't be an issue. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here during the cooler months though, it is a great little place overall!

Things to Note...

Easy to locate & close to restaurants. Front door difficult to unlock. No overhead fans, rooms are stuffy. Stand alone fans placed into bedrooms very old & dusty. Refrigerator is also old, food is barely cold or frozen. Mr.coffee pot should be cleaned out, coffee bitter. Deco is nice, all matching. Outside patio furniture not inviting to sit on, cobwebs all over. Easy parking, quiet neighborhood.

The house was very nice and clean, it could use some updated things such as a working umbrella . We really enjoyed our stay . Some suggestion would be the backyard chairs were very dusty and it looked like it was not cleaned for a while, we did not use it because I didn't feel like cleaning it during our stay .

Cute beach cottage

Beautiful - all amenities we needed and more. It’s a bit of a walk to the beach so we drove (also so we could carry a borrowed surfboard). Really nice to be able to borrow sand toys , umbrella and cooler too!!

Great value, good location

Overall was a delightful stay and just what we expected. It should be noted that the “short walk to the beach” is down a very steep hill. If you are traveling with elderly people or small children, it is not walking distance to the beach. Nevertheless, it is an easy drive there with plenty of parking and one of the nicest So Cal beaches I’ve been to. The house was very comfortable for our family of four and my son really enjoyed the hammock and welcome gift of cookies. The kitchen had most of what we needed, although we still had to purchase some staples like butter and the knives could use sharpening. The bedrooms were very nice and comfortable and the linens top notch.

Little things

We had a wonderful stay only recommendations we would have, is the furniture is very uncomfortable, the air filter needs to be changed along with the bathroom vent. The dryer does not dry well if your staying for a long period. Other than those things we had a great time, the kids loved everything and were comfortable. We recommend this rental to our family as well.

Perfect location and accommodations!

We were in town for my son's wedding in Laguna Beach and chose to have to rehearsal dinner at Proud Mary's at the Dana Point Harbor. It was super close and easy access to all of the tourist attractions nearby. We rented both sides of the duplex for several family members to be together and it was very clean and comfortable for everyone. Felt like home! Would definitely stay here again.
