4/10 Poor

The house is large and looks impressive, and the many en-suite bathrooms worked well for our group. Unfortunately, several issues made the stay disappointing.Cleanliness was questionable—we found two candy bars mashed inside the sheets of one bed, which suggested the bedding may not have been changed between guests. Despite sleeping up to 16, the house is also very poorly stocked. The kitchen cabinets are mostly empty and lacked basics like mixing bowls, usable knives, plastic wrap, and food storage containers. Paper products were limited and there were few comfort items like throw blankets. There’s also a safety issue with the staircase: the bottom step isn’t carpeted like the others and blends into the floor below. One of our pregnant friends nearly fell. However, the biggest issue came after checkout, when the host tried to charge us 175 for “damaged” garage door openers. The only time anyone used them was to bring in trash cans at the host’s request. Thankfully we had VRBO insurance, which covered it— But the interaction felt extremely questionable and left us with the impression that routine maintenance costs may be pushed onto guests. If you stay here, buy the insurance.
