We stayed for 2 nights and found this hotel good value for money. You get what you pay for. Our beds were comfy. Staff were very nice. They could maybe do with more staff for breakfast service as we had to ask both mornings for basic items - plates and glasses. The electric shower in our room needed an upgrade. Unless you like boiling/freezing water alternatively! We told reception who were understanding and said they’d get a plumber.

Hotel needs an overhaul from top to bottom, breakfast was scandalous, items having been left out for hours. Shame for the staff who seem very hard working but working in terrible conditions. Informed last minute pool was not open due to technical issues. Nothing really positive to be said about this hotel apart from the price, but definitely get what you pay for

We were only stopping for one night as we were going to a Funeral the following morning at Falkland which was only a 5 minute drive up the road. The hotel met our needs perfectly, we didn’t use any of the facilities but the looked clean and well maintained. The only problem we had was after traveling 340 miles we were told that depending on which staff member was on the food was a bit restricted but I couldn’t be bothered to get back in the car and drive up the road to a restaurant. We ended up with curry and rice which tasted good but I was hungry. Breakfast was good but it did look like a working man’s club that we were sat in but once again tasted great. The bed we had was one of the biggest beds I’ve ever slept in and comfortable as well.

Arrived, tried to book the restaurant and was told no chef so no food. Room was tiny, bed shoved up against the window, tiny room, scuffed walls, poor quality bedding, ripped and towels extremely thin. Bar was OK, cakes on display were from local baker and we had them with a takeaway in our room. Turns out the restaurant had been closed for 12 days... No email warning, nothing. So disappointing and no compensation in the form of a bottle of wine or similar. Terrible receptionist. Bar staff were nice but needs a complete overhaul. Avoid until sorted.

Lots of choice for cooked breakfast which apparently was hot and tasty. Few choices if having a healthy continental breakfast. Choice available was coco pops, cornflakes or frosties, brown bread and grapes. Room was rather small due to king sized bed, no wardrobe or hooks on room door, or drawer space. There were coat pegs in toilet. Had a desk with chair but if someone working at table you could get past, due to bed. Room booked was a superior double with king sized bed and private bathroom. Hotel only does breakfast, restaurant closed when staying. No where else in village does food. Nearest place was Falkland 2 miles away.

Awful.

First off..restaurant closed. Snack menu inadequate. Next, rooms difficult to access. Dirty finger marks down inside of bathroom door. Surprised to hear adults swearing loudly whilst young children were in the bar. No where to purchase coffee or any other drink after 10pm. Arrived in evening to freezing room with open windows. CH was clunky & noisy inhibiting sleep. All in all not good. Can’t recommend & will not consider this hotel again.

We got a great last minute deal. The hotel is easy to find with ample parking to the rear. We checked in and headed to our room. It was small but clean. It had a large smart TV, a large bed, coffee and tea making facilities, a clean and modern bathroom, a safe and complimentary water. I would have liked a wardrobe or hooks on the wall to hang up our clothes/ stow our luggage but it's not a deal breaker. The hotel had a pool and gym that we checked out but didn't use. The gym seemed well equipped. Breakfast was a buffet of cooked items and cereals. The coffee machine wasn't working except for hot water but you could make your own. The hotel was a great base of operations for us and suited us. It's a bit tired but for the price, it was fine. The big question is; would we stay here again? Yes!

Check in was simple and friendly. The room was small but clean we did not use the spar facilitys but there was just a gym and pool no treetments. The breakfast was cooked well but the coffee was instant with water from a boiler.

Arrived early 2.15pm to be told I couldnt get into room until 3pm unless I paid £20 extra (thought that was a bit extreme ) decided to have a glass of wine whilst waiting then enquired about dinner in resturaunt to be told no chef and resturaunt closed . Nearest resturaunt 4mins drive . Could have told us about ni facilities before having an alcoholic drink . . Told me if breakfast was available at £15 per person ??? Not the best and will not return .😡

A lovely Scot building with basic health club facilities. The room is clean and newly renovated. An unpleasant smell of history on the ground floor near reception. However the jacuzzi was not opened and the chef called in sick without a cover, dinner options nearby limited.
