"Great room, dog friendly, and such a quirky plsce"

"THE most peaceful and relaxing hotel during a multi-location trip. Stunning, historic and interesting.All the staff were so very welcomng and helpful. The grounds were pretty and well maintained. My room was quite basic, not particularly luxurious but authentic to the overall design. I'd recommend the balcony rooms with the loungers, particularly special and romantic IMO. Room 5. The pools are small, shallow and cold. Ideal for a quick cool down, but not for a good swim. More aesthetically pleasing than practical. The restaurant is delightful, with a good variety of dishes. Although I would have liked a couple of really traditional options to try and t We both thought that the portion sizes were a little on the small size. Ask for a table overlooking the river when booking. The prices were reasonable for a captured audience. If the We felt that there was a shortage of bar staff, particularly as it is a 5* property, and being fully booked the service was a little slow, however Rowena and Ellie were exceptionally hard working and extremely courteous (lovely people). I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this hotel and would return if I was in the area again."

"From the moment we arrived at hotel, which was almost midnight, we were treated like family. The warmth and attentiveness of Alberto made our first night unforgettable. We were welcome by two drinks and Alberto set up the perfect temperature of our room to our like. During our visit, I unfortunately got stung by a wasp, but the way the hotel mobilized to assist me was truly remarkable. They quickly provided a tweezer to remove the stinger, applied alcohol, and even offered mud from the spa to soothe the pain. The staff kept checking on me, making us feel cared for and loved. The accommodations were impeccable. Our room was clean, spacious, and featured the most comfortable mattress, ensuring a restful stay. We also enjoyed an excellent selection of ambient music that added to the relaxing atmosphere. A special shoutout to Lorena and Belén at the front desk—they exemplified true hospitality, helping us store our locally purchased cheese and chocolate and booking all our activities since our Spanish is not proficient. The spa was a highlight of our trip, offering various treatment pools and saunas that left us feeling rejuvenated. One of the most memorable experiences was the wine tour led by Mr. Mogul. His passion for winemaking shone through as he spent nearly three hours guiding us through the process and allowing us to taste some outstanding wines from this amazing winery. 100% recommend it to anyone! And thanks to all staff and the business owners!"

"We are a couple travelling with our English setter from Bilbao ferry, travelling through to Portugal.It was great stay in this hotel. It's incredible value, the beds are comfortable the shower was powerful and the staff spoke English. Staff were very accommodating with our dog in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Quiet location just off the main route but 20mins drive from Salamanca.There is a dog walk to a large pond 5 minutes away which was handy. The room decor/ furniture was a little dated but the restaurant breakfast and dinner were quite superb..we booked for our return journey too."
