Dwell Magazine Scandi Cabin with Outdoor Forest Tub, min to North Cascades Park
6/10 Okay
"This was a cute cabin and owners have done a great job at decorating and suppling it. We enjoyed the fireplace, outdoor shower and tub. The bed was very comfortable. The stairs to the bed are very steep and small steps, so if you have issues with steps be cautious. The surrounding neighborhood is not as clean as this place, but luckily the forest encloses the view for you! "
Secluded Forest Cabin w/ Hot Tub & Private Waterfall
10/10 Excellent
"Funky, bohemian-style Northwoods retreat in an exceptional location — just a few miles from the entrance to North Cascades National Park and several nearby state parks. The property itself is surrounded by towering moss-covered old-growth trees that feel straight out of a fairy tale. Leave a window slightly open at night and you’ll hear the soothing sound of a cascading stream running alongside the driveway. This was easily the most fully appointed vacation home kitchen we’ve ever experienced. Most VRBO kitchens tend to be sparse — this one was the complete opposite. Every imaginable appliance, utensil, and cooking tool was thoughtfully provided. The cupboards were stocked with snacks, coffee, hot chocolate, condiments, and even pancake mix and real maple syrup. There’s also a covered outdoor hot tub just off the deck — perfect after a day of hiking. One of the highlights is the enchanting trail behind the home. A short winding walk through lush ferns and mossy forest undergrowth leads to a private waterfall. The sign says 1/4 mile, but it’s really closer to about 100 yards. If you’re looking for an authentic North Cascades forest experience with charm, character, and atmosphere, this place delivers beautifully.A couple minor drawbacks: there’s no washer/dryer, and if you visit in May, expect plenty of rain."
River Front on the South Fork of The Stillaguamish River
8/10 Good
"The cabin was very cozy. Furnishings were older but worked well. The river views were beautiful! The only thing I was frustrated with was the super sensitive smoke detector that went off every time we cooked, even with all the windows and doors open and fan going. Otherwise, it was great!"
North Cascades Getaway – Off-Grid Riverside Cabin with Wood-Fired Hot Tub
10/10 Excellent
"I was a bit skeptical after learning about the generator process that I didn't read about in reviews. We decided to go anyways and boy are we glad we did. Absolutely beautiful property, and Ron, our host was great. Waking up and having coffee looking at the river was mesmerizing. Steps from the rivers edge made it very easy to hike up and down its banks. The cabin has all the necessities you would need, except for a hairdryer, my wifes only complaint! we cooked most of our meals there but did venture in to town and ate at Up River Bar and Grill. Food was very good. All in all a great choice for spending our 40th wedding anniversary. Look forward to a return visit in the future. "
"Great communication. Very clean and super cute decor. Loved the flannel sheets and the new retro microwave. We enjoyed feeding the cows too. Definitely would stay longer next time. "
"We had a wonderful stay on the river. The property is beautiful and well appointed. They really went the extra mile, with a ton of extras to make sure we and our dog were comfortable. They had bows and a dog bed included, extra thoughtful. The amenities are wonderful, hot tub, sauna, fire pit, we took advantage of all of them! The main character was the gorgeous river out the back door. We made our meals in, and the kitchen was so well stocked, we had everything we needed and more. Everyone had a sound sleep, the beds were very cozy, and the sound of the river, and the rain on the metal roof at night were soothing. Check in and check out were easy, and the hosts were very communicative throughout our stay. Wi-Fi worked great. We had a birthday party for my partner, and it was perfectly sized for the seven of us celebrating. :) thank you again for a wonderful stay! Highly reccomend "
