WEATHER: Bring warm clothing such as sweaters and thick wool socks. It's a cozy environment in the winter. If you are wondering what the weather will be like during your stay, the WEATHER CHANNEL app is an excellent resource as is the CAL trans Quickmap which is great for pinpointing road conditions, closures, detours, etc.
WEATHER TRAVEL ADVISORY: We recommend carrying chains for your specific vehicle and tire size during the winter months or during any possibility of snow. CalTrans will have Chain Checks and may not allow entry onto the mountain without them. Traveling past chain check without chains can be VERY dangerous. Most 4x4 vehicles are often allowed up without chains but CHP or CalTrans may ask to carry chains anyways as back-up. I am not responsible for guests not being prepared and turned away due to not having chains.
WINTER/SUMMER POWER OUTAGES : Please be aware during inclement weather (snow, wind, rain, freezing ,etc ) there may be power failures for extended periods of time. This is out of my control.
TRAVELING TO CRESTLINE: During the winter months, it’s the guest's responsibility to know and be prepared for winter road conditions. Weather and road conditions are not grounds for changes in your reservations. - Always remember to check roadway conditions, including chain controls, road closures and more with the Caltrans app "QuickMap", the Caltrans website, and and the Caltrans Highway Information Network - I am not able to help if your car becomes stuck for liability reasons.
WINTER WEATHER IN THE MOUNTAINS: Light Snow Removal from vehicle / walkway is the guest's’ responsibility. Anything heavier, I will address. - Shoveling may be required to gain access to the cabin. A snow shovel will be provided. - No refunds will be made for circumstances beyond my control, acts of nature, downed power lines, or weather related problems.
FIRE RESTRICTIONS IN THE RIM FOREST: Crestline and the surrounding area’s visitors are reminded to exercise caution when visiting the National Forest and maintain a higher level of awareness with the increased fire risk. Travelers through the Forest should remain on designated roads and never park on dry brush or grass. Outdoor wood, charcoal, or campfires of any kind are not permitted. Fireworks are always prohibited in the San Bernardino National Forest. The US Forest Service will be aggressively citing those who do not comply with the posted restrictions. Violation of these prohibitions is subject to punishment by a fine of not more than $10,000 or imprisonment for not more than six months or both, as Class B misdemeanors under federal law. Persons may also be responsible for resource damage, suppression costs and any injuries that occur if they are found liable for causing a wildfire.

I would definitely recommend this home for a getaway. The home was the cleanest VRBO we have ever been in. The place is decorated beautifully and is very comfortable. I love the extra throws for when you relaxing watching TV. We definitely will book again hopefully earlier fall next year!
We had a great time! It was my husband and my two small children. We had such a great time and it was so nice to get away from the city and be in a quiet place. The home was super clean. It was fully stocked and very accommodating. We needed an extra fan and the host even brought an extra one for us. He was super attentive and communicated well. I would absolutely come back to this place and recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet place to get away! Thanks so much!

Best for winter only! I just had an off visit hopefully, not as envisioned from photos
My daughter and I envisioned enjoying the grass yard and there wasn’t one. Pics are false. No trash bags or clean sponges. we walked around the yard cause I had no reception to obtain the code to get in that was sent on our way in the app only, that I couldn’t access (not simple) and we found a used condom on the ground. The host seemed initially understanding but became cold and unhelpful nor understanding. I learned a huge lesson as I didn’t read close enough and thought there was AC. There isn’t. The place had been closed up. it was 90 inside. only two, barely any flow, tower fans and when you open the windows the neighbors smoke cigarettes a lot right next to the corner two sides of the cabin. They can see in and look and smoke a lot which wafts in. So blinds usually closed and windows shut and no screen door so the mosquitoes and flies would come in. With an ugly dead tree at the door. It was a hot, buggy stay. There were dead flies and june bugs in all the window frames and spread on the living room floor, there was noticeable food and dirt on the edges of the entire kitchen.the shower head was blocked; had very limited flow. I feel the cabin is remodeled beautifully and in cooler weather with a more deep clean it would be great. I liked the cabin and staying there but unfortunately all that other stuff was part of my experience so I won’t be back. I hope you try it tho. A Winter stay! it’s located great and it’s so cute n comfy.
