Dead gorgeous scenery surrounds this place! There is a beautiful garden in the back with flowers that are breathtaking, the home is beautiful and a perfect place to stay when traveling through Northern California. Crescent city was a scenic 15 minute drive to delicious restaurants as well.
What a gem, the yard and amenities combined with proximity to both redwoods and ocean tide pools can't be beat. Kathy is a great host and we strongly recommend this home.
Kathy is a wonderful host. The house is well-equipped and very comfortable. The flowers around the house are beautiful. The best part is the location which is about 3/4 mile from the entrance to Jedidiah Smith Park. The trees there are amazing! Oh, and there is a terrific restaurant within walking distance and a gas station/market across from that. PERFECT place to stay to enjoy ALL of the Redwood forests.
This was an amazing little house and all the amenities were perfect! If we ever head back to the Redwoods we would definitely stay again! I have been sharing the location with my coworkers and friends. Love this place! Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to stay.

Great place to stay. Clean, had everything we needed, 15-minute drive to the coast. Felt safe in this location and would definitely stay again. Great communication with the owner!
The house was very stocked which made the stay with my family of 6 comfortable. Very clean and updated. Close distance to some of the Redwoods hikes. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you Kathy!
We really enjoyed ourselves & wished to have stayed longer. Centrally located & thoughtfully stocked with anything you could need for a perfect getaway. And it is just cute. Be sure to explore the garden- it is impressive!
The place is beautifully landscaped and lacking in nothing as far as creature comforts. We particularly enjoyed the proximity to river and redwoods. Would love to come back.
Beautiful house and garden. We had our 5 and 6 year old run laps to burn off extra energy. As a family of 5, inside was to small for my bunch, would be perfect for less amount of people. The boys enjoyed the variety of games and maze around property, and felt safe with locked gate. Please note, it is off a busy road and we were able to hear cars during our 2 nights there. This did not keep us up all hours...All in all, beautiful property and enjoyed the location.
We loved staying here!
It was the perfect spot for the hiking we did over spring break.
House was fully stocked not only in the kitchen, but laundry room and beach toys too!
The skylights in the home were such a beautiful treat in the AM and the Jacuzzi was fabulous!
Would definitely book again! :)
Place was great- very clean. Location was ideal.
Appreciated the ping pong table in garage.
Landscaping was lovely!!
Only minor negative is the house smelled a little musty.
Best supplied kitchen of any place we’ve stayed in.
Would stay again! Thanks!
Great for short trips to nearby trails and beaches. ~90 minute drive to “tall trees grove” and “fern canyon” (needed permit in advance for both). Smith river access and beach area was awesome. We could live in this house, it had everything we needed. Lots of small details to make everything convenient.
The kitchen, living area and bathroom were beautifully remodeled. The bedrooms were a little small and dated but comfortable. Lots of windows! Very well stocked with everything you could need and more! Just be aware if you are an older guest that the oversized tub is very difficult to step in and out of and there isn’t a grab bar. We loved walking to the.hiouchi Café for a delicious breakfast and stopping at the quirky little wood carving shop on the way home. The visitor center is just a mile down the road.
The property was a perfect size for my brother, his daughter and me. It was a bit cold initially, but the heater really works well. The pictures don't do the home and property justice.
Stayed for a long weekend. The home is directly off the highway and you can hear traffic from the kitchen and living room but the bedrooms are at the back of the house and we couldn’t hear the road at all while sleeping. This place is one of the cleanest VRBOs I have been to and really appreciated the quality of care. The grounds/landscaping was absolutely gorgeous and they take a lot of pride in keeping it well landscaped. There are neighbors but felt very private with all the landscaping. Fully stocked with extras even we didn’t expect. Ping pong table kept my family extra entertained. Would highly recommend this home.
I REALLY loved this property. I felt like every detail was considered. We were left a basket of snacks (how sweet is that!). We loved the movie and game selection. All the condiments i needed were there. It wasn't nice enough outside to play ping pong or last good. But i loved that those were options. Really loved the shower and the heated blanket!! Thanks for a lovely stay!
Our time here could not have been better. There were four of us - 3 adults & a 16 year old. There was plenty space & the cabin was very well stocked. Because it rained so much, we stayed in one day - reading, playing cards, watching movies, & chilling in front of a beautiful fire.
We hope to return this summer (no rain) when we can do more hiking, go swimming & maybe kayak in the gorgeous Smith River, & get some beach time- with our HAH (home away from home) in this lovely cabin.
Thanks so much, Kathy!
