Spotless home, with a beautiful garden. We grilled some steaks from the store just down the block, and had a lovely dinner with the help of the well appointed kitchen. The home is in a very scenic tiny town just minutes from Crescent City. Well worth the easy drive from town. The amazing Oregon coastline is a short drive away as well. We hope to stay again sometime. Great home, in a beautiful forest just minutes from the beach. Thank you for your hospitality!

This house was very cute and clean. It was cozy each evening to come home and relax after adventuring. The garden in the back was very pretty and fun to watch birds while drinking my coffee. This home was in a great location to hike the groves and the host had a list of suggestions that we happily followed. We were very happy here!

Dead gorgeous scenery surrounds this place! There is a beautiful garden in the back with flowers that are breathtaking, the home is beautiful and a perfect place to stay when traveling through Northern California. Crescent city was a scenic 15 minute drive to delicious restaurants as well.

Kathy is a wonderful host. The house is well-equipped and very comfortable. The flowers around the house are beautiful. The best part is the location which is about 3/4 mile from the entrance to Jedidiah Smith Park. The trees there are amazing! Oh, and there is a terrific restaurant within walking distance and a gas station/market across from that. PERFECT place to stay to enjoy ALL of the Redwood forests.

Hidden Gem!

We really enjoyed ourselves & wished to have stayed longer. Centrally located & thoughtfully stocked with anything you could need for a perfect getaway. And it is just cute. Be sure to explore the garden- it is impressive!

Great & Cozy

We loved staying here! It was the perfect spot for the hiking we did over spring break. House was fully stocked not only in the kitchen, but laundry room and beach toys too! The skylights in the home were such a beautiful treat in the AM and the Jacuzzi was fabulous! Would definitely book again! :)

Place was great- very clean. Location was ideal. Appreciated the ping pong table in garage. Landscaping was lovely!! Only minor negative is the house smelled a little musty. Best supplied kitchen of any place we’ve stayed in. Would stay again! Thanks!

Perfect for trip to see Redwoods

Great for short trips to nearby trails and beaches. ~90 minute drive to “tall trees grove” and “fern canyon” (needed permit in advance for both). Smith river access and beach area was awesome. We could live in this house, it had everything we needed. Lots of small details to make everything convenient.

We booked this property which was listed through VRBO and arrived late in the evening after a long day of driving. The check-in process was smooth, easy, and exactly as described. Unfortunately, as soon as we entered the home, we were met with a strong musty, mildew-like odor throughout the property. My family has previous experience dealing with mold-related health issues, so the smell was immediately concerning to us. Within a few minutes of being inside, several members of our group, including myself, my mother, and my nieces, began experiencing headaches, chest irritation, and coughing. Because of these concerns, we decided not to stay in the home. Instead, we left and spent the night car camping a few miles away. We continued experiencing coughing and respiratory irritation throughout the night. I messaged the host to let them know about our concerns but did not receive a response during our stay. We didn’t receive a refund either but I did not get to ask because she did not respond. While others may have a different experience, I wanted to share ours so future guests, especially those who are sensitive to mold, mildew, or indoor air quality issues, can make an informed decision before booking.

The property was a perfect size for my brother, his daughter and me. It was a bit cold initially, but the heater really works well. The pictures don't do the home and property justice.
